incubus0
I was a bit disappointed to try out the text over sync features of my brandy new Droid Incredible in my brandy new F150 Raptor and have it say it's not available. All the online compatibility lists I've seen do not have the Incredible listed. Does anyone here have a link to someplace that does? And or any news about when they will become available? Hi, by the way, I'm brandy new here.

Hi, by the way, I'm brandy new here. Hi Brandy New! Verizon disables text over Bluetooth on all their phones. It's a Verizon policy, maybe to eliminate people tethering their phone to their laptop? As such, if you're with Verizon, none of their phones will do text over SYNC.

tgara
Well, that's just horrible. Another one of the growing reasons to switch from Verizon. Thanks. "Horrible" is a little strong. It's disappointing to be sure, but a reasonable safety policy in Verizon's view. Otherwise, their service is top notch.
Muzicman61
Someone on SyncMyRide is claiming their LG Cosmos on Verizon will do texting with Sync. I'm skeptical of the claim but optomistically hopeful.

I too am hopeful!

I too am hopeful! I can confirm, bought a LG Cosmos last night, paired it with my 2010 sport trac & it started reading my text messages right out of the box. No settings changes made at all. No settings changes made at all. And what mode were you in? BT Audio, listening to radio? Playing from USB? When it was done reading the message did it return to where you were at? robm15
Aside from the texting issue, how does the Droid Incredible work with Sync? Any issues with making a call, answering a call, or hanging up? Does the contact list transfer into sync just fine?
robm15
I received my Droid Incredible from Verizon Wireless this week, and it paired up perfectly with my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with Nav. I am not having any issues, it dials out perfectly from the Nav screen, and via voice command. It downloads the phone book and call history with no issues. In summary, I am happy to report no problems at all for future Droid Incredible owners with Ford Sync. As mentioned in previous posts, no text messaging does not work. EsoxShep
I can tether my DROID. No problem when using EasyTether. So, there must be another reason Verizon disables the text over Sync.
