2010 Fiesta - iPhone Bluetooth / Music Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Glad to have found this forum and hoping you can solve a problem I'm having with my Sync 1 (I think!) in my 2010 Ford Fiesta (UK) when I connect my iPhone via Bluetooth.

I use the phone in the car as a navigator with Apple Maps and also as a source of music with all the songs I have saved on it in the Music app.

There are times when I want to only hear the navigation instructions from the Maps, but whenever I connect the phone to the car, it automatically starts playing music. Even if I then physically close the music app, it simply reopens again and the music starts.

I had for some time managed to "fix" this via making a shortcut on the phone that made the music pause itself when the phone connected to the car, but this seems to have recently stopped working for no apparent reason.

Reading online seems to suggest turning off "auto play" in the Music app, only the button they show for it, handily is completely absent from my phone.

I cannot for the life of me find any other settings on the phone which suggest they'd solve this, because Sync isn't Car Play or any of the later more technical things.

Surely there has to be a solution, so hoping am not the only one to have had this issue.

Many thanks
