waflyboy
Hello, I have a 2019 Ford Edge Titanium (Sacramento, CA). Sync has generally worked very well throughout my ownership of the vehicle, however recently a strange problem has manifested. Occasionally after starting the vehicle, the screen will stay black (with backlight) until I shut down the vehicle. Then, usually after the next start it behaves normally again until the problem repeats at some point after a future start. (About every 3rd start.) In this state, I can still control things that have hard buttons somewhere in the car. ie I can control cabin temperature (although I cannot see the set temp), and radio control through the steering wheel. However the audio on/off button is unresponsive and the Sync button doesn't work. It appears that I have the latest software version. Not sure of this behavior is related to a recent software update or an impending hardware failure, or some other thing. Does anybody have any advice? Thank you. I see you said ‘it appears’ you have the latest version. The latest available from Ford is 3.4.23188. If you have anything earlier (especially 3.4.22251), then you should update and see if the problem is still there.
Multitask
Could be overheating of the screen , could be a lot of things... if you are in fact running the latest software update that the 2019 edge can have, then it's best to take it to a dealer to see what is up. If your vehicle is still under a warranty, then I really advise taking it in if not , take it in would tell what it is and possibly the cost from them to do it.....
