Version available NA 2 22 is available and I will purchase the subscription but I had a couple questions I was curious about before proceeding. How often do updates become available? once a year or more? Is there a general time of year where updates are made available? How do I tell what version is currently installed? Usually some time in the area of late-August to mid-September. can find what NAV map version you currently have by going into the settings on your vehicle SYNC screen, then "About SYNC". There you can access your current SYNC version, NAV map version etc. You should also see if there is a SYNC 3 system update available for your vehicle. You can find out if your vehicle has available SYNC and NAV map updates here: https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/ Let us know how you make out and good luck. I am not sure I understand your subscription question as to "....do you know if it's from date of purchase or calendar year?", so I will answer in this way: As previously mentioned, SYNC 3 NAV map updates are released once a year. So if you purchase the 1 year update/subscription, you get the one update available at that time. If you purchase the 5 year update/subscription, you get the update currently available, and then the next 4 updates (one per year). You will be notified when each annual update becomes available and can download it at any time in the following 11-12 months, up until the next update is released. Other 2020MY models only got 3 and recently I saw that on some 2024's Ford had cut it to 1. The subscription is based on 1st iteration of the map being purchased, not the calendar date. So if you bought a 5 year subscription to get NA2.22 today you would get NA222, NA223, NA224, NA225 & NA226. If Ford were to drop NA223 a month after you bought your subscription, you would have to fight with them to give you an extra year as these are actually owned by TeleNAV.
