Multiple device issues

Recommended Posts

Hello! New here so hello! I just became the owner of a 2014 Ford C Max with sync. I have an iPhone XR and an iPod Touch 4th gen. I can connect the iPod and it will play, and I can connect the phone and it will play, but if I have them both connected or even both recognized and paired, even if the phone is not connected, the iPod will not play. It will connect and it will say it’s connected but no sound will come through the car audio, it just plays through its internal speaker. To the left of the device there is a blue musical note, but when it isn’t playing the note is not blue, it’s grey. The phone will always play, it’s just the iPod that has the issue, and only if the phone is also paired.

Also it seems to think the iPod is a phone rather than just a player and I can’t find a way to change that, not sure if that is part of the problem or not. I want to have both and be able to play from either because I have way more music on the iPod but I sometimes want to stream from twitch or SoundCloud which I can only do through the phone while on the road. If anyone has had this issue and knows a solution or a workaround I would be extremely grateful! Otherwise I have to keep forgetting one device and re-syncing/forgetting them so that only one is paired and connected. Big pain in the butt!

thanks!!
