Update log file help

Can anyone help me figure out how to get a new log file to send to Ford verifying my sync update ? I did the update but didn't realize I was supposed to upload the log file to confirm my system was updated with Ford. I've tried reinstalling the update with no avail any help would be appreciated.

 

I have a 2016 explorer XLT with the sync 2 (Ford my touch) ?

That's the problem. I didn't know that I had to upload the file to confirm the update and I cleared the usb without uploading the file. So unless I can get a new log file I won't be able to install the map updates because it's telling me to update sync first. So frustrating.

Hi Jon. THe XML file is created by and proprietary to your particular vehicle, so it is unlikely that anyone here will be able to help you reconstruct the XML log file. You will probably need to contact Ford Customer Service and/or Ford SYNC Customer Service to have them straighten this out.

 

I am sure other members will jump in to help if they have information to the contrary.

Can you reinstall the update again?  Not sure if it will let you or not.

I too forgot to send in the file to Ford after an update and it showed update still available. Ford said they could't update it from their end and to wait and it would clear.  After 4 or 5 months passed it cleared and showed  up to date.  Hopefully that will occur for your account.
