ecardanha
Hey, wondered if anyone has ever downloaded a Sync 3 Map Update from https://syncnavigation.com/ford/ and get it to work? Followed all their docs and used a USB 3.0 32 gig drive with a 2017 Ford Fusion but it doesn’t even attempt to update. Reached out to them for help, they told me to talk to Ford, Ford told me to talk to Here but the link they sent me to when I said it was a 2017 Ford bounced me to a like that directed me to https://syncnavigation.com/ford/ and if I need support to contact Ford. Thanks, Evan

Thanks, Evan Hi Evan. When you start your vehicle and insert the USB drive, exactly what happens? How long did you leave the USB plugged in before removing it? Let us know and good luck. ecardanha
Hey, Nothing that is the odd part I put the USB drive in no prompts or anything for that matter no errors. I left it in for like 15 or 20 minutes and drove to work. I've done this before in the car with a USB drive same folder layout for Sync 3 Updates as well so not like hasn't worked in the past. Muzicman61
Do you have any other USB devices plugged in? You need to remove them first before inserting the USB drive with the update on it.
RedHoncho01
You may need to format the USB drive. It should be in exFAT format. Otherwise, the update should be self starting. It may prompt you to shut off and restart the engine to complete the update. Good luck and let us know how you fare.
ecardanha
No other USB device present just the one with the Update and it is formatted as exFAT per their instructions. Never prompts to start the update or do anything as their docs tell me it should prompt 2 times before the update starts and then a few reboots and then a prompt when complete to power cycle the car to get it to take. Doesn't add up. Evan
Multitask
Make sure the flash drive is formatted for Fat32, or Exfat, and MBR also, follow the instructions 100% , i.e. there should be 2 files in the root, and the other files in a seperate folder. (it has been a while, I'd have to look at home what the files would be)
Muzicman61
For Sync3, it needs to be formatted exFat. FAT32 won't work supposedly for Sync3. I just upgraded my wife's Edge ST maps last night. I started the car, then once Sync was initialized and ready, I inserted the USB drive. Took about 20 seconds and then I saw the first message indicating it was updating. I think it went through 3 phases, Downloading, uncompressing, then installing. Took about 30 minutes.
