2 android phones will not work

Recommended Posts

I am trying to hook 2 android phones up to my 2019 F150. I want one to be able to answer the phone and the other to stream music or podcast.

I have tried for hours making one my favorite to answer phone calls. And the other for music. I cannot get the music one to work thru the truck. If it matters it is a S21+ samsung.

Any suggestions?

Hi Frog. You do not mention how you are trying to connect the two phones. To my knowledge, you can not simultaneously connect 2 phones via Bluetooth/wirelessly.

You may be able to have one phone connect via Bluetooth for phone calls, and connect a second phone via the USB ports for music streaming. Give that a try, if you have not already.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I was able to successfully pair my phone and my wife's phone on her 2020 Edge ST (Sync 3.4).  They both show up as audio sources but I have not tried to actually stream music from either one.  Do your two phones successfully pair and show up as audio sources?

Hi Muzic. My SYNC 3.0 equipped car can only connect via Bluetooth to one phone at a time. Are you saying both phones (yours and your wife) can connect simultaneously, and both display on the screen being simultaneously connected? And you can answer calls from either phone simultaneously?

If yes, perhaps that is an improvement in SYNC 3.4 that is not available with SYNC 3.0.

I was able to finally get two phones to work, somewhat?

One of the phones is connected by USB (main). The other is connected by Bluetooth.

I go into settings and pick the second phone to play media. This leaves the main phone for calls.

After that if I want to play music, podcast, etc. I go to sources and pick the (second) phone.

With two phones connected to Sync. I cannot do google voice commands or see google maps on the sync screen. Like i could with just one phone connected usb.
