Setting Presets For Pandora In Sync3

Recommended Posts

Alrighty Sync experts, here's a hard one for you...maybe.

I'm trying to set the "Presets" for Pandora in the audio screen.  Can someone help me do that?

Notice in the pic below from the main Audio screen I have Pandora loaded.  I touch the "Presets" button and get a (seemingly) random list of Pandora stations I've set up at some point over the past decade or so (see second pic).
I've tried pressing and holding the stations that show up in the preset list hoping that 'button' would change to whatever station is playing (as though you were setting the presets for am/fm/Sirius).  Nothing happens except when I release the button Pandora tries to load that station.

Next to the "Presets" button is a pancake menu button.  Pressing that brings up a screen with 'all' of your Pandora stations (including some you have no idea were there).  You 'can' touch any of those items to load and play the station but how the heck do you move a choice over to the actual "Presets" button?

I did go to the Pandora app on my phone and deleted a bunch of odd stations.  That eliminated a couple of items from the 8 "Preset" buttons but didn't leave any blank so they could be selected.  I'm out of ideas.

Help! ;)

What version of Sync?

Looks like this is the 'app' version, not through Car Play or Android Auto (so not Sync 3)

Sorry, Sync3 V3 in a '16 Edge

Yes, it's the app version.
I was trying to answer a question from someone else (different forum) and had never tried Pandora as an app before.  The deeper I dug the more questions I had but this one stumped me.

Hmm...

here are questions I would have

what phone and it is up to date, pandora is up to date, sync 3 is as up to date as it can be.

the interface looks like they played with forscan already, could be they messed with something else ?

Galaxy Note 5 running Android 7.  Pandora up to date and Sync is running the GT theme.  The background is black because headlights were on (garage).  I don't think any of that is the issue though.   I 'should' (based on the way channels are set in AM/FM/Sirius screens, be able to press and hold a "Presets" button to set whatever channel is currently active to that button.   Sync just isn't working that way for Pandora.
I've pinged FOMOCO Sync assist and hope to get an answer from them.

Hi Gadgetjq.  My non-expert thoughts on this issue: Presets can be utilized for AM/FM/Sirius, but I do not believe they can be set for phone music apps being played through Android Auto, CarPlay, AppLink etc. You can only choose from your pre-existing lists of favorites or the general app list of stations.

Thanks for the assist attempts.  After another hour or so of battery punishing play with this thing I've determined the presets list is entirely dependent on your list of stations and the order they're in on the Pandora app.  To change positions I actually had to delete stations then re-add them.  So, it's kinda funky and not really worth bothering with unless you're a die hard Pandora fan.
Thanks again for the help!

Hi Gadgetjq. Yes, I had a chance to check on my MKZ to report back, and presets can not be set for Pandora.  We only have our list of "Favorite" stations, or the full list of stations.
