mvan231
Hi, I've been having issues with Sync 3 and CarPlay while using Waze (forum post) and have issues with speed reading incorrectly while using CarPlay. Many users have this issue on Android and iOS. It has been reported in that forum that a version update to the unofficial release v3.0.19119 addresses a fix for incorrect speed data ported into Waze via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Does anyone have information about this update being applicable for any Sync 3 system? I have a 2016 Edge and curious if it applies to Edge as well. Based on my previous experience with Sync 1 on my 2013 Fusion, it should be able to take a file that was intended for another vehicle model but I wanted to check and see Edit: I just found out on the Waze forum about v3.0.19194 being released in the UK. Hopefully this gets released in the US soon Edited July 15, 2019 by mvan231
Multitask
I have been using 19119 for about a month... but have Android Auto... so I don't know what was fixed for you... and I don't use Waze much... mvan231

Definitely understand. I found a download for it on a Focus RS forum and it worked in my Edge. The official release of a newer version is slowly coming available for certain people. It did fix my CarPlay vehicle speed issue in Waze too
rbryant76
Anyone seeing this update yet? Have a long road trip coming up and would like to get this fixed. I am still on build 18093.
Multitask
I'm getting a new APIM with Nav for my 2018 no nav (From a 2019 F-150) . hoping that 3.3 (or if 3.4 will work) will fix one thing for me. AA when I'm driving using Google Maps (and Waze does it too) the compass is off.... keeps flipping to the right as if I'm 15 degrees off... New phone did not fix it, so it's either Google Maps, or my APIM... we will see... At least I'll have the built in Maps.. 8)

The official update is apparently 19149 but only released in Europe at this time. 22 hours ago, Multitask said: I'm getting a new APIM with Nav for my 2018 no nav (From a 2019 F-150) . hoping that 3.3 (or if 3.4 will work) will fix one thing for me. Waze or Google Maps are superior to the built in for reasons of newer updates, but if you're in an area that hasn't changed recently then it's all relatively the same. I also don't know if the built in accounts for traffic or not

Next on the list of getting the ACM that has HD Radio... I see them, but I don't want to spend that much.... I know I can get one for about 60-

Additionally, if you download Maps.Me, it just got CarPlay support and has great offline maps with searching available while offline. Multitask
I saw that, but I'm AA so it won't work for now mvan231

I know there are a number of other offline map apps, but usually if your system caches the map then you lose signal, it'll still continue your original route (unless it needs a reroute or new search)
Multitask
No, I often drive into areas that there is no Verizon towers, sometimes for many miles... So a builtin map would be kewl
diesel97
you can DL maps for offline if you have a trip planned
Multitask
Yea, I know... but I don't always know where I'm headed.... I like to wander... 8) Apparently 19205 is out there... diesel97
RetirEd
I found update 19119 and the main file is JR3T-14G381-AP.tar dated 5/17/19. I then found (both on Focus forum site) update 19205 with main file JR3T-14G381-AS.tar dated 8/3/19. I am assuming (hate to do that) you don't need to update to 19119 before 19205? Hopefully all goes well. Maybe it will fix the speed discrepancy on Waze.
Multitask
I just put 19205 on .... my APIM has Nav now, and I really doesn't see anything that 19119 had on my non-nav before... I just went from 18093 to 19205... time will tell... On the APIM, it was supposed to be from a 2019 F-150, but it's really from a Mustang (don't know the year) So eh, it works... works fine... Someday I'll find a 2019 unit and swap again... 8) Oh, and new APIM did not help with the Google Maps issue.... it still thinks I'm going 15 degrees to the right.... or maybe it wants to just spin, can't tell... So new APIM, new Phone, updated OS on everything... Google Maps still wonky Edited August 12, 2019 by Multitask
