Jeff Cline
I have a 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat. My sync system has become very slow to respond to commands. Sometimes it takes 20 seconds to think about what to do after i touch the screen. I've done a Master Reset. I've disconnected the Battery over night. I took it into the Dealership and they want to charge me $1,050 to fix a switch that is malfunctioning. I wanted to check out some Forums before i pay that much money. Anybody know of this problem and have any advice? I might go to Car Toys and change the whole thing out. I would rather do that than pay ford. I'm always paranoid that viruses are downloaded to our electronic devices just so we have to spend money to fix or upgrade. I.E. apple phones. Thanks for any advice. ben senise
i find that diagnostic very dubious. if a system is slow, it's because it's doing something else at the same time. are you using car play or android auto? is your phone connected? do you have navigation? is your sync set up to update automatically over wifi? do you have the latest version sync? (check https://owner.ford.com/) if i were in your situation, i would go through the settings and turn things off and/or change things to see if that made any difference. Muzicman61
Do voice commands also take an excessive time? How frequent is "sometimes"? I've seen where if i make a voice command, and then for whatever reason I say "cancel"... I will have to wait about 10-15 seconds before it will acknowledge I've pressed the voice button again and accept a new voice command. But never when just pressing buttons on the display. Stonecrest
I've been having the same issues with my 2018 explorer XLT, since I bought it in October. Many trips to the dealership, 3 apim replaced, nothing works. Also have been in touch with regional customer service rep who promised she would get the issues resolved. No such luck. Now the rep won't return my calls. Good luck.
