isaacread
After the installing the latest update, my 2016 F150 said the installation completed correctly. Now when pressing the voice command button on my steering wheel the screen displays, "voice recognition not ready". I know there are other threads for this, but the all end with no fixes, so I thought I would try again. Please help...

My software was at 1.0 when I bought the truck. I downloaded the software from Ford.com owner site and it said it worked fine. I’ve tried multiple master resets and pulled the fuse and battery cable with no luck. At at this point I believe a software issue but I don’t know where to get the version 2.2 software. Multitask
This is Sync 3? or 2? and what version is it at now?
cch123
I wish I had an answer for you. This happened to me yesterday and I called Ford Sync support. The had me open the door, press the lock key, wait 2 minutes, turn on the radio, do the power & right button at the same time to reset but nothing worked. The final solution from them was take it to the dealer. Heading that way now.
isaacread
Was the dealer able to correct the issue?
cch123
I took it to the dealership this morning. I will report back when it's out of the shop.
cch123
They re-imaged the system twice and that didn't fix it. It's a $600+ part and $300+ labor to fix the system.
Multitask
I believe the APIM is under an extended warranty https://ford.oemdtc.com/3675/auxiliary-protocol-interface-module-apim-replacement-2016-2018-ford-lincoln

I need some documentation indicating that the APIM is under extended warranty.
Multitask
go to syncmyride.com and sign up and put your VIN in, it'll tell you if the APIM is still under warranty
Yeerj
I have the same problem but on top of “Recognition not ready” I am also not receiving navigation guidance. Do I need to go to the dealership?
isaacread
Mine has the same issue, essentially all voice from Sync doesn’t work. when did your issue start?
UofMEngineer
This issue is caused by an problem during the update that causes some of the required voice items to fail to install properly. The APIM will need to be replaced under warranty.
Jackiechan9091
I’m having the same issue! I hope someone from ford is viewing this issue. This is an issue with their update and they need to find a fix!
Jackiechan9091
After 3hrs on the phone with tech support, nothing worked!! They told me I had to take it in to ford and leave it. I found the fix myself. They admitted there is an issue with their software. Here’s the fix, first turn off your phone bt and do a master reset. Then connect your sync to WiFi, turn on auto update. Then do a check for updates. Your system will take another update. Turn your car off. The next time you start your car, voice recognition will work again.... you are welcome!
