At first blush, my issues seem to be fixed 1) WiFi automatic update gave an annoying message when you start the vehicle A)I have left it in automatic for a few car on/off cycles and no notification 2) Last update moved my clock time by an hour and it was back and forth to get it correct A) no issues this time 3) The sync screen wouldn't go into night mode when I started my car at night A) This also seems to be fixed. I will need more on/off cycles at night to be sure. 4) XM reverting back to a FM/Am station when you turned the car off without turning off the audio A) this has been my biggest "first world" complaint.... but I think this is fixed as well... Good news it only took less than 5 minutes from 18025 I did find this for IOS users... wharrell Posted September 3, 2018 Report Share Posted September 3, 2018 The build still has not fixed the issues of being able to use Music in the Cloud or Live Streaming through USB Music connection WITHOUT CarPlay activated. The content will stream around 2.5 minutes and the lock up thee sync unit This worked fine on all other Sync systems pre 2017 Apple Music in Cloud Amazon Music Spotify Tidal Vox Calm Radio Others. The benefit is for those that prefer the stock navagation and not the poor quality unreadable mirrored Apple Maps. The screen stays bright generally when I start the car in the dark and the XM station reverts to the last AM/FM station when I turn off the car.. Oddly, the Auto update message hasn't shown up unlike others on this forum.. Sorry again.. I seemed to work when I was testing it out on the first night.. Before I drive away, I make sure Sync is fully loaded on the screen and my iPhone 8 is detected via Bluetooth. I plug in the phone to USB...most of the time CarPlay starts up...sometimes it doesn't, and I have to unplug/plug back in several times until CarPlay starts up. Make a stop somewhere....turn the car off...open the door....unplug the phone. When I get back in (repeating the startup steps above), sometimes I'm back in iTunes or Pandora....sometimes not. Kinda hit and miss. Now, I can't say how much of this is the phone, and how much is Sync 3. I'm anxious to load iOS 12 on my phone and see how that works...and to get Google Maps and Waze on the CarPlay screen. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Multitask Posted September 16, 2018 Report Share Posted September 16, 2018 The thing I noticed is when I was playing around, I started Alexa did something and wandered away from it. When I started playing my iPod, the right center screen would flip between song time and total time playing. It wasn't until I saw that Alexa was still 'running' that I exited it, and then the iPod played normal.... hmmm I also have the issue where my Pixel 2 XL does not always (well 5%) of the time not reconnect even if it's plugged in.... It is now intermittent which isn't my recollection of the older version. 1) Does not always go into night mode when starting the car in the dark. work-around.. a. leave the Sync3 in night mode display. b. turn the headlight switch from auto-> on -> auto 2) reverts to the last AM/FM station when tuned to XM and you turn off the car. work-around.. turn of audio before turning of car 3) reminds you that updates can be done via wifi. work-around.. turn off auto WiFi updates. Multitask Posted October 16, 2018 Report Share Posted October 16, 2018 I've noticed that my phone looses BT connection to the unit ever so often.. A couple times I was talking to someone and it said it was disconnected, but the call was not... after about 20 seconds (or so) it reconnected... then it didn't...
