Escaper2
I bought a new 2016 escape last April. I thought I could put my MP3's on my thumb drive, plug it in, and start listening. WRONG.! NO media found. I went to the SYNC/FORD site and followed their directions for the zip file download. I previously had formatted my 8gb thumb drive to fat32 on my Windows 7 PC. After unzipping the "SyncMyRide", "Autoinstall", and "install" files, I placed them in the root of my drive. The website said start the car FIRST, and turn on the radio. Did that. The on-line instructions for my vehicle then said to go to "AUX" Guess what..? I don't have an "Aux", button, or option. I found a "Install on SYNC" in SYNC settings>begin SYNC installation> yes or no, then got "no files found". Under the "Browse USB" option there's a blank screen. Got in contact with support. They've had me trying all sorts of things the last two days. Yes, despite what the web site says, I tried inserting the thumb drive first before starting. Same thing, no media....no files found. We discovered that my "SyncMyRide" folder was missing the JB file, and she sent that to me. I installed it in the folder and tried again, with the same results. The instructions on the web site are nothing like what the support person is saying. I have the S model with the small screen. I have no "Aux", no "SYNC line in", no "Advanced" option. The voice control works good, she just keeps saying no media found. Under "system info" I have v 5.8. and am trying to update to v 5.9. She also had me do a master reset, which I did, and got the confirmation. Retried everything again with the same results. This is very frustrating. I'm 63, and this is my first FORD vehicle. It could be my last.
foicanetadavo
There are some posts of this on the web, it's something related to lines and spaces. Edit files autoinstall.lst and install.lst and insert a new line between the existing test like: [Windows Mobile for Automotive 5.8] Item1 = 8L2T-14D546-AF Open1 = SyncMyRide\8L2T-14D546-AF.CAB Item2 = E1BT-14D546-KB Open2 = SyncMyRide\E1BT-14D546-KC.CAB
Multitask
2 year old post... as has been posted several times... it's best to use a USB 2.0 drive, while a 3.0 might work on 2017plus cars, better to start with an older USB2.0 flash drive...
