Dude
My wife's 2016 Escape won't play more than one or two songs from a USB stick before it switches to FM radio on its own. I'm a long time Sync user in my vehicles and this USB stick works perfectly in my Lincoln and F-150, so I'm certain the device has no problems. I've done a Master Reset twice, yet it still has problems indexing and playing the device.
Gvem6
Having very similar issue with 17 F150. Not very pleased with Sync 3. When you contact Ford they just read to you from the owners manual.
punch-card
Make sure your thumb drive is correctly formatted, see this tread http://fordsyncforum.com/index.php?/topic/5454-media-format-to-play-songs/&do=findComment&comment=17368
jtdwab
I will ask a question of both of you since my unit, 2017 escape, has a similiar problem. When this happens do you also have your phone connected by USB? For me if I have my iphone connected via USB (carplay or not) it will do t his but if I connect via bluetooth I don't seam to have the problem. Does that match your experience? Muzicman61
Since the thumb drive works in his Lincoln and F150 it's safe to say it is formatted correctly. Probably FAT32. Sync 3 will now support NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT. It might be worth trying to format the stick with one of the other file systems just to see if it makes any difference.
