ecodad
This morning, my radio was stuck on and would not change stations, let me adjust the volume or turn off (even after the car was powered off). How do I force a reboot short of pulling the batter cable? I've seen reference to a delayedreboot.cab, but that appears to have been pulled back in 2013. The physical power, volume, source and tunning buttons did not work. The touch screen interface for the radio did not work (though I could access the phone and other screens). The steering wheel controls wouldn't change volume or tunning, either from the four arrows or the handsfree. Help!
Adam Harden
We have two systems in our fleet that just did the same thing, today! Same symptoms. I tried a factory reset, and that did not fix it. On my truck, I was playing songs via USB. On the other truck, it was just on AM radio.
ecodad
My wife called the Ford Dealership and I'll be dropping the car off tomorrow morning. They think it may take a while to fix. They had one other report today too and it isn't that big of a dealership IMHO. Here's a video I posted showing the problem:
FordIVTteam
Hi guys, Your dealers will be able to fix this for you; however, are your MyFord Touch systems on the latest version of software? You can check this by logging into your Owner account at Owner.Ford.com. 2013 vehicles are up-to-date with version 3.6.2, and 2014+ vehicles are up-to-date with version 3.7. Let me know! Adam Harden
Hello. Our fleet is up to date. We took one to the dealer and they didn't really do anything except run some reports, and it started working. My truck is still not functioning and it is running the latest version. I did notice there is an action on my owner.ford.com FSA Title: SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM)
FordIVTteam
Hi Adam, That FSA is just advising you that you have a limited extended five year warranty on the module that controls MyFord Touch. Just to be sure I understand correctly, your system started to work after the trip to your dealer, but this issue started again, right? If you'd like, I can check your VIN and see what our next steps are; shoot it over in a private message. Jonathan Ezor
One thing you can try is to hold down the main audio power button (with the car running) for awhile, perhaps a minute or so. That's how I got mine to shut off completely. I held it down again for another while, and it rebooted. Also, one way that can unstick it is to remove any USB or SD cards you have connected inside the armrest console. That can also sometimes wake up a stuck Sync. {Jonathan}
