Steveromo Posted January 22, 2015 Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 I have I-phone 6 and 2015 Explorer using My Ford Sync. Works ok but I want to change some settings but don't know how. Hands-free phone work great. However, when in car my phone goes mute completely. No notification sounds for texts or emails, and no turn info when using Google Maps for driving directions. I can only hear instruction when I listen to music from my phone using the AUX/BT selection but when I do that my phone will instantly start playing its' current song. The song mutes for Google instructions or I can stop the song. But I want notification sounds and driving turn info to come from the phone so I can listen to music from radio or CD while driving. FordIVTteam Posted January 23, 2015 Report Share Posted January 23, 2015 Hi Steveromo, Since those notifications are coming from your phone and is considered media, the only way to hear them is by staying in AUX or Bluetooth audio. I am surprised that the Sync system will automatically engage whenever I receive a call regardless of what I am listening to or even with the system off ... But won't do so for any other phone activity. I would like to suggest this option for future software updates. Thanks again.
