Multiple problems - Fiesta

Recommended Posts

Ok let me start off by saying that when it works, it works fine. I'm still not sure if its SYNC's problem or my flash drive's problems but we'll see in a bit when I replace the drive... It's a 16 gig flash drive btw with 14 gigs of 192 kbps Mp3s. No tag problems.

Ok here's what happens, and it seems like this all started happening after I upgraded to sync 4.0.

1. On startup, sync either has to reindex the usb drive or it refuses to think it's there. The only way to fix the latter problem is to do a master reset which is annoying. It seems to get worse depending on heat and humidity

2. If I do get it working, on long trips it sometimes just cuts the audio off, even though the play time keeps counting. After about ten seconds of that it reads "Bad Media". Now, here's why I think it's a sync issue. When that happens, everything but the CD/radio cuts out. No bluetooth, no voice commands and no USB. It just crashes. After about 10 minutes I can press phone and it'll reconnect to my phone but the USB is dead until I reset it. I cannot replicate this problem; it will play the same track fine when I get it to work...

3. Bluetooth audio is finnicky. It used to be that when I turn the car off and on again, it will start playing my phone automatically. It doesn't do that anymore. Yes it's a small problem, but I figured it might be relative.

I'm taking it to the dealer this week but I wanted to make sure this isn't something I can fix on my end

Thanks in advance...
