LG phone sync's up then says bluetooth disconnected after a minute or so

LG phone sync's up no problem every time but then says bluetooth disconnected after a minute or so

I had a similar problem with my LG phone. Turns out the phone wants you to hit "Yes" to approve download of the phone book soon after connecting. If you don't, it disconnects after a minute.

I fixed it by telling SYNC to only do manual downloads, which I do manually once a month or whenever I made a change to my phone book. Otherwise it automatically doesn't try to download and disconnect on pairing.

Thanks Much... I just happened to download the new firmware for the phone again yesterday and all work again. When I first got the phone it work fine for about two months then it stopped one day and started this bluetooth disconnect thing. My wife has the same phone and hers did the same thing.

I downloaded the new firmware before and it did nothing but just happened to try it again yesterday and it works again with no manual download of the phonebook

LG must have finally recognized the problem Thanks

  • 1 month later...

Go into the SYNC settings menu on your phone screen. Lots of settings and options there. One of them is to manually download the phonebook now. Another is to turn off the automatic downloads.

I tried doing it that way and the phone still disconnects the minute I try to make a call. But when I don't have ANY phonebook in there at all, it will let me make the call just fine by saying the numbers, which of course is a HUGE pita because who the heck can remember every single phone number anymore? Is there any other way to get my contacts in there besides downloading the phonebook?? Is "add contacts" the way I have to do it, one number at a time, typing them in?

I have a Samsung phone and for it not to disconnect from Sync requires that I stop automatic downloads. To add contacts to your Sync, use the Send Name Card feature. On the Samsung, you go to Contacts, pick a legitimate contact, hit Options, select Send Name Card, select send via Blutooth, Mark All Contacts (selects everyone in your phonebook), hit Done. Then go to Sync menu on your car to Add Contacts and all your contacts will be downloaded to Sync.
