Muzicman61
I've noticed that when ever Ford Pass "connects" to my wife's 2020 Edge, I hear a mechanical clank noise. Anyone else hear similar and can explain what it is?
Multitask
Here are the questions... do you hear the sound from the phone or the Edge? Does anything not work? Either on the phone of the Edge ? Do you have notifications sound to be the mechanical sound ?

The sound is clearly coming from the back end of the vehicle. Not any notification on my phone. Same thing used to happen with my 17 FFE until my 3G modem went out of service. Multitask
If it happens all the time, take it to the dealer, have them hear it... maybe they know what it is...
Muzicman61
I don't believe there is a real issue. Just curious what the noise is. I guess I'll show them next time I'm in for an oil change and get their opinion.

Diagnosing noises over the Internet is a difficult proposition, so yes, the best course of action would be to have it looked at next time you have your Fusion in for service. Especially if you are still within the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
Muzicman61
Well, I'm not due for an oil change until December. Given that I think it's a normal function of the vehicle, I figured somebody else must also hear this when ever Ford Pass talks to the vehicle and would know what it is. Hi Muzicman Yes, I understand why you posted. And I am sure someone will jump in if they read your post and happen to have the same issue. However, if no one does, and it bothers you enough, make a service appointment sooner than December. A deaf/blind Internet diagnosis from your description ("a mechanical clank noise") would lead me to believe the noise is not normal. But your idea of "a mechanical clank noise" may be different than mine, and we can't hear it. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
