NCEcoBoost
Since my Samsung Galaxy S6 stopped communicating with FordPass after January 2021, I finally dug a little deeper, and the subject is what I've discovered. I need to upgrade to at least an S8. Since my phone meets my needs for now, bye, bye, FordPass. This was posted by Ford in February 2021. NCEcoBoost
I Googled "Phone Requirements for FordPass" and came to a link that had the info I posted. I'll try and update this post with that. Interesting that your info is dated later than mine, BUT that doesn't explain why the app hasn't worked on my phone since late January, even with the constant app updates. Edit: I typed in "Android Requirements" in the FAQ section of FordPass in the FordPass section of the Ford Owner site and this is what it shows (I did see a date yesterday of sometime in Feb. '21). This morning, I found a slew of postings about the inop app over the past 3 years and they all say that I need to perform a Sync3 Master Reset. Which makes no sense because the app doesn't work when I'm nowhere near the car.: Question: android requirements Answer: FordPass Phone Compatibility Android Software requirements: Software version 8.0 and up iOS Software requirements: Software 13.0 or later Apple Watch 6.0 or later Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Edited April 4, 2021 by NCEcoBoost

NCEcoBoost
More updates. I went out to the driveway and first did a Sync3 System Reset (good news is that I got Voice Recognition back that had disappeared). Then I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Then I cleared both the app cache and app data. End result is that it still says "Unfortunately FordPass has stopped", so I'm inclined to think that my system requirements info is the correct one. Found a reasonably priced new phone with Android 10.0 but it's out of stock (chip shortage probably) and won't let me even backorder it (half the price of the one at Amazon). So, no FordPass for me. For a while.

Muzicman61
Agree with Multitask... useless since it no longer reports the odometer reading and oil life.
Multitask
Oil life would be nice... but the O, I can look at my car for that. ? The Lincoln App for me wasn't working for a while... crash, or it kept thinking I was in Detroit... took them 4 months to get it so it was working again... So maybe in a few months it will for you. alcohenusa
Oil life and odometer are still there, at least in ios (app version 3.19.1). Though the entire vehicle page has gotten very erratic in the last few updates.

This is certainly on the list of reasons to avoid a Ford product in the future. They must have hamsters running the technology side and simply don't give a sh*t. alcohenusa
I know this was about Android, but if you have an iPhone, you can use the Siri shortcuts hack that essentially eliminates the need to use the app. It’s faster and much more reliable as long as Ford’s servers are functional. We have a recent GM vehicle as well with NO infotainment issues. OnStar just does it thing, flawlessly. Perhaps newer Fords with modems are better, but I believe that Ford's lax attitude (and it's the lax attitude that's the problem here. When I reported my issue to Ford, all I received back was a laughing emojii - VERY mature) with infotech all began with the dreadful MyFordTouch. It's improved a bit but still lags other brands (except the user interface, which is great). Honda is perhaps the only other non-luxury mainstream brand being knocked about as well these days, but in that case, it's being outdated.. NCEcoBoost
So now we're going from bad to worse. As of right now, FordPass has disappeared completely from the Google Play store. Since I'm using the car later today, I thought I'd try to uninstall it (again) and reinstall it, but it's nowhere to be found.

Maybe you cannot see it if you phone does not meet the minimum requirements??? Looking at the Google Play website, it still shows Fordpass but now says Android 7.0 as a minimum. Seems like a moving target on what the requirements really are. WHAT'S NEW What’s New - 3.20.0 • Fixed bugs and made some improvements under the hood of the app. Keep the feedback coming! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Updated April 15, 2021 Size Varies with device Installs 1,000,000+ Current Version 3.20.0 Requires Android 7.0 and up So, yesterday, I googled "Phone Requirements for FordPass" again and was led to the stats that I posted above. Android Version 8 or higher...I hate to say that I had anything to do with it, but it makes sense that GooglePlay now doesn't show FordPass if my phone doesn't meet the minimum standards. Good news is that my phone provider had restocked since the beginning of the month and a new phone is on the way with Android Version 10. Happy, Ford? But I'm furious that an auto manufacturer can dictate when I buy a new phone and won't forget it.

This is my last response to this issue since it has zilch to do with the topic. You always manage to get the subject off-track, like many on the "other site" do and turn it into a "Ford is the best, no matter what" debate. Even though my Fusion is almost paid for, it has very low miles, so I'll stick with it until the extended warranty expires (I am subject to that nasty engine replacement possibility as well). But, probably will go back to GM after that unless I want another sedan and then it's the Japanese, most likely.
