Auftrag
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. It pairs fine with Sync 2 (2015 F-250), but will not stay connected, drops and repairs over and over, with 2017 Ford Fusion that has Sync 3. Dealer has checked car, updated software and checked APIM and found no issues. Have deleted cache on phone, deleted and repaired phone and updated phone on Sync with no solution. It seems to work for awhile after these efforts, but soon begins again with the issues. A basic phone, Kyrocera Dura and all phones the dealer tested seem to have no issues. The only really weird thing is that when the radio/cd player on, it seems to work fine. I don't know if that is related or not. Ford support is of no help and Samsung is nearly impossible to reach. Help appreciated.
Multitask
I've read Sync 3 and some phones don't work well with BT. My Pixel3 (and 2 when I had it) would be ok for a while, then poof... removing them and re-pairing would fix it for a few more months Doesn't seem to be a 'fix' out there... for me even with 3.4 it is a tad wonky
NCEcoBoost
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and it works perfectly with Sync3 on my '17 Fusion. I don't think the S7 is that different. Sounds to me like it's maybe an issue because you have it paired with 2 Fords. We only have one Ford in our family. Hate to say it but maybe you'll need to get another (cheap) phone and pair each with one vehicle. I know, what a pain, but Sync does have its quirks. tjeeper46
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and have the same problem. It pairs, then drops, then pairs, then drops, about every 5 minutes. My wife's S8 pairs up and stays paired. I tried deleting the S9 pairing to Sync3, and it worked better for a while. Now, its doing it again. 2016 Edge with the latest version of Sync 3 that can be installed on our version of hardware. We have had it in to our dealer, the PIM has been replaced for other reasons a couple years ago. Recent attempt, the dealer replaced the screen in the dash. Not sure if that fixed anything we were seeing. My S9 works perfectly with MFT in my 2015 F250 truck.
Auftrag
Solved the problem. Phone does not work well in pants pocket. Placed in console and no hiccups. Bluetooth interference due to phone. Edited December 4, 2019 by Auftrag
radarxxx
Glad it worked for you. Phone problems in the car can be really frustrating.
AndyT
Same problem with S9. Gave up with Ford - they fixed it for a while then broke again on another autoupdate.
Multitask
Sync 3 3.0 was very flaky with my Pixel2 now 3 It would be fine for a while, then reconnect.... now that I'm on 3.4 it's been rock solid, so Ford (RIM) must have done something good...
