zeux
Hi to everybody, first of all I'm very sorry for my English... I have a couple of question about Sync 3 How can I increase the volume of speed cameras alert? Now the volume alert is too low... Is there a way to update POIs and speed cameras? Thank you very much. punch-card
First in Sync3 adjust the volume while the sync3 is "speaking", otherwise you are adjusting the volume of the radio. As for POI and Speed Camera, first I pretty sure in US we don't have speed cameras on NAV, but I don't think there is any way to add a POI/other except adding it in the favorites/address book. This is based on my US version.

enigma-2
Although unrelated, I use an Escort Passport Max2 radar detector which links via the cloud (direct to Escort Defender Database) and automatically shows the known location of all US speed cameras & red light cameras. Updates weekly so its rarely out-of-date. The Max, Max2 (same as the Max but connects to your cell phone via bluetooth instead of a cable) & the Max 360 also track local police radar if they were detected by another Escort radar detector and is also connected to the cloud. Using this you may be travelling along and a radar blip pops up on the map display showing where someone else just got hit by radar or laser. (Gives enough warning to slow down). Database also tracks the speed limit of the road your traveling and alerts if your driving over the speed limit (by how much can be set in the settings menu). Back to your question, I imagine that the database would need to be updated constantly for red light and speed cameras; as just having a database of them in the POI would go obsolete very quickly. For whatever it's worth, there is an Internet website that tracks red light & speed trap cameras, state by state. timmerfl1
punch-card
My choice is "WAZE", which is constantly update by community input. Any built-in system like Sync3 Navigation, are out-of-date by the time the system hits the market, just check the Nav maps. But WAZE is not a radar detector, but WAZE does display road conditions and hazards (include police) as reported by the user community. The down side, you have to have a smart phone with a reasonable data plan, you have to have reasonable coverage, and it sounds like WAZE will be integrated into Android Auto, my guess is it may not get integrated into CarPlay.
