Crystal
My sync 3 system will not play my Google maps directions through the speakers if I'm listening to music. I know it does it because when I first got the car a couple weeks ago it did it just fine. Any idea why it would stop doing that? If it can't do that simple thing it's almost useless because my sync 3 didn't come with navigation.
dysert
I still relatively new to the world of SYNC and Bluetooth, so please bear with me. I have a 2014 FFH. I also have an iPhone 6 that of course comes with a Maps app. When I use the app, I can tell it to send its audio output to the iPhone or to SYNC. When I send it to the iPhone everything is fine. It comes out the phone. But when I send it to SYNC I don't hear anything. I have increased the phone's volume, but that doesn't help. Another oddity is that my radio is still playing, so if I increase the car's volume, it just raises the volume of the radio. I figure I must be doing something wrong. Can someone help? Thanks. booch221
I Have a 2016 Fusion SE with SYNC. Supposedly I have the latest firmware. I paired the my Galaxy S6 with Bluetooth. I can hear Google Maps driving directions through the audio system as long as my phone is playing content stored on my phone (music and podcasts) but when I switch to the radio I can't hear the commands anymore. I rent a lot of cars and I've never encountered this problem. I've even rented other Ford cars and was able to hear commands when the radio was playing. Is there any setting to tweak, or is this just the way it it an this particular model? : ( Edited February 6, 2017 by booch221

dannyd17
You will usually be able to hear navigation directions from your phone if you select your audio source as Bluetooth. If you are listening to the radio, the phone is trying to send audio to the car but the car wont play it. Go into the settings of the navigation app that you are using and you can select if you want to here the directions from the phone or over Bluetooth. There is also an option on some navigation apps to have directions played as a phone call where you will see "incoming call", hear the instruction, and then see "call ended" as you radio comes back on.
