Hermans
I have all windows machines. I figured after 90 minutes it just was not going to work.
tjeeper46
Installing rev 2.2 with nav. I tried first using a 4GB thumb, formatted both FAT32 and exFAT, and hit the out of memory error each time. I figured it might be due to waypoints and music indexes stored in the sync unit, so I also tried doing a master reset first. No luck with the 4GB thumb. Next, I ordered a 128GB thumb, PNY brand, USB 2. First, I formatted it on my win7 machine using exFAT. Then unzipped and copied the files to this thumb drive. Did a master reset just for good measure, and it worked. We were having a lot of problems using iPod Classics for music media, so the 128GB thumb was reformatted and loaded with our music. The thumb drive is an acceptable work around for the software bugs that surface when using iPods. Picked up a 2nd 128gb thumb for music in our F250 (which is MFT). cantaloop
Did you try the iPod after installing rev 2.2?
tjeeper46
Did you try the iPod after installing rev 2.2? Not yet. However, I highly doubt they fixed the iPod bugs, given they did not fix a simple bug in the Nav sw. I will give it a try sometime soon and report back. I went out and bought a PNY 128g thumb drive. Transferred the files from another drive and I did not have to do a master reset. Took all of 15 minutes. I kept trying the update with old and new drives with no suscess. The only thing different was the PNY 128g 3.0 drive. It was $24.00 at Staples. tvav@comcast.net
To all that are having problems with the USB, here's what I did which worked fine. (I updated my Ford Edge 2016 to 2.2 in about 15 minutes) I downloaded the zip file from the this forum I unzipped in in a new folder on my laptop's HD - (running Windows 10) I used an old 8GB USB drive: Plug it in Find the new drive in the Windows explorer Right click on it - select Format... On the following dialog select exFAT as the File System Allocation unit size - 32 kb (default) IMPORTANT: Uncheck the Quick Format check box Click on the Start button and let it finish - it will take a while After the format is completed, I copied all of the files from the folder in step 2 into the root of the USB drive I ejected the drive (right click on it, select eject) - which guarantees that all read/write operations on the drive have been completed Took it to my Edge, plugged in and 15 minutes later the system was updated to 2.2 I hope this helps someone pmbb68 and Janice45
wintrmte
OK thanks for the confirmation. Found a part number for a single port hub that might work and is not on eternal back order (I think). HU5Z-19A387-A Just thought I'd update that the part HU5Z-19A387-A worked perfectly in my 2016 mustang, both the console USB and the front USB are active and detect Apple Carplay. Took 5 minutes to do the swap. If anyone is interested, http://www.waltsweeneyfordparts.com/had them in stock as of Wednesday, January 4th. topdogg7505
I installed v2.2 with Nav on my 16 F150 Platinum last night. (I used the With Nav update File) Android Auto works fine but my factory Nav just says loading maps now and I also noticed Sirius Travel Link was loading for the 25 min drive to work. Any feedback of people upgrading that already have Nav? I only have been seeing people report success with Non Nav units. Just trying to get my navigation to work again without having to use Google Maps. Thanks

azgman
Successfully updated my 2016 C-Max SEL today from Sync3 v1.0 to 2.2. It took about 20-30 minutes to complete the update from the thumbdrive. Once the car was shut down and restarted so the update would be in effect, it took another 15-20 minutes to reload the maps for navigation. All good using Android phone. Have not tried my wife's iPhone but I expect to have to replace the USB hub to get that to work.

azgman
Yeah, my links no longer work. I am guessing Ford removed the files. Edited February 16, 2017 by azgman
grimmacef13
I just bought a 2016 C Max Energi & I cannot get Apple Car Play to work. Anyone out there with this issue, or have any info? In order for appleplay to work, you have to upgrade the USB ports in the car. The number you need for the Ford part is hc3z-19a387-b, look on Ebay, dealers are usually selling them.
