After update, Bluetooth still doesn't resume

Recommended Posts

I finally got the update to install. Now, while listening to Bluetooth audio, I can now see the track information. But, after cycling the ignition, it reverts back to "Line In". It's almost as if it's not discovering the phone quick enough.

Hey BCPD199,

I'm here to help! Please PM your VIN, so I can take a look into the software version.

I don't think providing the VIN will do any good. If you have Sync Gen 1 with Navigation, then the 4.4. update will not work for you. If you have Sync Gen 1 and DO NOT have navigation then it should have worked. I think that is the consensus from everything that I've read. It doesn't matter if it showed up under your vin as an update for your system. If you have Navigation, bluetooth will not auto resume playback. You will get metadata(artist, song name). Also, you may find that, occationaly, the system will refuse to connect to your phone. If that happens you will have to pull your battery cable or the fuse to the sync module to get it working again. There is no other way around this. Either of the two reset options will not resolve the issue. Also if you dial phone numbers directly from you phone, while connected to the sync system, it may go to privacy mode after the first ring. This is what we get from the 4.4. update. It's like a 12 year old compiled some code and never beta tested it. I finally took a leap of faith and purchased another sync module from ebay. It was from a car a year older than mine. I got lucky and it had never been updated. Still running 3.1. It was plug and play and now the system works great. No metadata but bluetooth resume correctly and I can make calls from my phone rather than having to go through the voice commands. YMMV.
