wjbertrand
Running Sync version 4.4 and it has created a lot of new problems. The most annoying one is that when I ask Sync to play a particular track, it correctly repeats the name of the track I requested but then plays a different one instead. If I try again with the same track request, Sync then selects yet another incorrect song. The titles of the tracks it plays don't sound anything like the one I requested and it is accurately repeating the song name to me. It's not even consistent, in that it will play a different wrong track each time I request the same track. When I ask Sync to play a particular artist it accurately repeats the artist's name and then correctly begins playing tracks by the requested artist. It used to work that way for song tracks too, but no longer. I've tried resetting my iPod Classic (same media source I've always used) and I've performed a master re-set of the Sync system. So far nothing has helped. Has anyone else experienced this and discovered the fix?
wjbertrand
Update: Since I figured I was dealer-bound to fix this problem anyway, I decided to try re-installing the v4.4 update again since I still had the downloaded files on my computer. I set up a fresh USB stick containing only the unzipped files and performed the update again from scratch. Guess what? It seems to have worked. Sync started repeating and playing the correct track title back to me but only a few times, then it went back to picking random tracks again. Guess I'm off to the dealer for this one... FordIVTteam
Have you tried SYNC My iTunes yet? It can be found in your owner account under the SYNC Updates tab. Rebecca
cdmacdonald
I am having the same exact problem with my 2014 Fusion with navigation, purchased new this past Monday. I traded in my older, trusty 2009 Fusion, where the voice commands were working properly for all requests. Obviously, something is different between the old software on my 2009 & the new software on my 2014. I did all the same things as above, i.e. master reset, which supposedly re-indexed my ipod. Very frustrating, to say the least.
wjbertrand
Have you tried SYNC My iTunes yet? It can be found in your owner account under the SYNC Updates tab. Rebecca Thanks Rebecca, I've tried the Sync my tunes many many times on my computer where my iTunes lives, but the process refuses to complete. Keeps giving me an error that iTunes is busy and to try again later or some such. I've tried running this under as many different conditions as I could think of and no joy. I even checked a setting within the iTunes preferences as I was instructed when it didn't work the first time. The setting (I forget now) was already set correctly according to I think your's or Kim's advice. This last update is a real mess... Is there a way to roll back to the previous version or at least obtain a new download, on the theory there was something corrupted in the one I'm using? Have you already checked your account at: Owner.Ford.com to make sure you're running the latest version of MyFord Touch software? Also, which type of iPod is being connected? Hi wjbertrand, There is no way to install an older version of SYNC software once the system has been updated. I recommend scheduling an appointment with your dealership to take a closer look. wjbertrand
Yeah, I've set an appointment for the 24th, but things in life have come up and I have to change it. Because of my job, I can only get to the dealer on Saturday and their sync expert is only there every other weekend, so no chance to get it looked at until the middle of June! UPDATE: I tried to run syncmyride again, thinking maybe I needed to have iTunes open first, but now it thinks I don't have iTunes on my computer at all and asks me if I want to down load it or not. Whichever choice I make, syncmyride tells me it's closing down. I went so far as to try re-installing iTunes, it gives you a repair or remove option, so I picked repair. After restarting the computer and attempting to run syncmyride again, it still tells me I need to have iTunes installed and again asks me to down load it or not. I tried a fresh download and re-installation of syncmyride with the same results. I don't suppose the dealer can help me with that one! Kim Sorry I haven't come back to this for a while. I had the dealer install the latest software shortly after I got the car. I had tried to install myself, but the system just hung during the process. The update didn't help with the problem at all.
