Voice control not working for usb

Recommended Posts

I have successfully used the voice directions to play tracks on my iPhone 4. That is until the last couple days. The kind lady tells me this feature is not available. Well I respond " it did a day ago" and she chirps back " I cannot understand you".

Funny that when I ask what's playing, it is able to.

My guess is it's another cold related issue, but I blame everything on Chicago cold.

Anyone else have this problem?

2011 Escape BTW

Jim, I have an 11 MKX and an i4. Up until yesterday when the VC button stopped working, it would respond to USB commands just fine. I could search by title or artist. Funny how it will work one day and not the next?

I joined this forum for this exact reason. We have a two week old 2011 Fusion Sport which was great right out of the box. Now, the Sync lady says "Speech control not available with this device" while yesterday everything was fine and dandy. Same device.

I thought there may be an answer. Scott, I'm curious what a "sizeable delay" would be defined as... 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes? Or more?

same problem here - 2011 fusion, worked fine w/ my ipod until yesterday, so i tried my other ipod and same issue = it's the car, not the ipod.

I now regret not buying a no frills (but more reliable) civic as I had originally planned. I bought the fusion for sync and it doesn't even work right 3 months later. (just one of several issues unfortunately).

Dealers are aware of a TSB for SYNC in the 2010/2011 Fusions that will fix the "Speech controls not available with this device" problem. It will take an hour for them to reprogram the SYNC module with the updated firmware. Until then, all you can do is pull the fuse, put it back in then wait five minutes.

That is the most dumbest thing I have ever heard. It's a software glitch, not a mechanical problem. If you like mechanical problems and getting a$$-raped in parts costs, then by all means buy your lovely Civic.
