  1. Hi...I was able to upload the Sync 3 2.2 upgrade to my 2016 Edge and it was successful (so it says). When I went to use the Navigation, I noticed that there were no voice instructions and there was a voice button on the screen with an 'check' through it...when I clicked on it, it did change color but the 'check' did not go away and there was no voice. Also, when I click the voice control button on the steering wheel, I get a message saying that Voice Recognition is Not Ready. I tried different things...reloading update, resetting to factory settings (it did not remove the update)...I chatted with Ford and was told to reset the radio (hold seek button and radio power button at same time)...nothing has worked. I did call the dealer and they said to bring it in (sounded like he never heard of this). I have an appointment for next month... Anyone familiar with this or have any ideas? Thanks! segald
  2. I dropped my 2014 MKZ off to get two recalls fixed and update the software (not just Sync). The dealer gave me a 2017 MKZ as a loaner. The Sync 3 screen and UI is so much better than what's in my '14. So, is it at all possible to upgrade to Sync 3 short of dropping in a whole new center stack? Of course, the fact the '17 uses buttons and knobs instead of just the stupid touchscreen make dropping a new center stack in very appealing. And safer.
  3. Just venting my frustration with Ford. I loved my 2014 Fusion Hybrid and the MyTouch when I first got it. The most useful feature was my ability to use my iPhones address book to select an address and have it used by the Navigation System. (That was after spending hours to change the "Country" code to 2 characters in hundreds of contacts). Then the first Sync upgrade came out and that feature was eliminated and subsequent updates have not returned that feature. I've installed several updates since that first, I honestly i can't see any performance enhancements; only new glitches. Now, that Ford has moved on to Gen 3, I don't have any faith in Ford to fix issues wth Gen 2. Another real pet peeve of mind is you can't (the dealer can't) reverse any upgrades to the system; no way to reset the system back to original software setup and Ford doesn't tell you what the upgrade will accomplish. No more Fords for me.
  4. I have a 2015 Mustang GT with the 8" touchscreen and Sync 2 / MyFordTouch. I'd like to upgrade to SYNC 3 which appears to require a whole new head unit. It looks like the units are starting to trickle out (There's one here) and I'm just wondering if A) all the connectors will be the same and if everything will "just work", like my climate controls, remote start etc. It's pretty new so I'm not expecting many success stories yet but I do see some ford techs on this forum so perhaps they'd be able to offer some information. It stinks that my shiny almost-new car is stuck with this 5 year old technology and there's no other option (that I can find) to get a modern head unit. Thanks in advance.
  5. My brother has a 2013 TC wagon, and I have a 2011. His Sync is far superior to the Nokia Bluetooth in mine. I want to put in the later American style head unit and Sync module. Has anyone tried or succeeded in doing this? It looks like it would be pretty straight forward except for the radio connectors. Any guidance is appreciated, especially a part number to the Sync module, and does it swap with any other cars like Focus or Fiesta? Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. Hi Ford Edge owners (in Europe) Is there anyone who was able to upgrade to the lastest Sync version on a Ford Edge in Switzerland, or Germany? As we're "abroad", we didn't receive the package automatically :-( Please share your ideas here. cheers
  7. Hi all, I have recently bought a 2010 fusion sport. I am looking to upgrade the head unit with this http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/483417238-For-Ford-Fusion-Explorer-Expedition-Edge-F-150-Car-Radio-GPS-Navigation-System-wholesalers.html I really like the fact that it loads up with ford image. My question is has anyone already Done this with this with this particular unit and are there any pitfalls you can share with me. Does it work with a 2010 dash? I believe I will lose the voice activated sync feature but I will gain a gps, DVD, rear camera, tv etc so I think it's a fair trade. Any help or advise with alternative systems would be appreciated.
