Hi there, I'm a bit annoyed by Ford. Got a 2016 Ford Edge EU Specs and was delivered with Sync 2. I expected Sync 2 to be updated to allow the use of Android App but nope. Sync 3 was installed on 2017 Ford Edge in EU. Seems that Ford was not very fair with their European and Aussies customers by delivering cars with outdated Sync 2 until 2017 while US cars got Sync 3 since 2015. (maybe they had a stock of Sync 2 they wanted to get rid off). So can we expect one day an update that would allow the use of Android Auto on Sync 2 or should I get that off mine mind ? (FYI Mazda just release on update of their MZD connect to allow Android Auto and carplay). If not what are the other solutions available ? Does a hack exists ? Have ever tried Easyconnect ? Or Go for a class action against Ford cie for unfair commercial practise in EU and AU? Thanks Won't go for an upgrade kit, too expensive and not available in EU anyway.

I have an issue where my iPhone disconnects from Ford Sync 2 in my 2015 Focus Connection: USB Issue started when I updated to iOS 12 beta from iOS 11on my iPhone X. Music would play for between 2-6 minutes and then the music would stop and the controls on the Sync screen wouldn't control the music. Press play on the iPhone and music played from the iPhone, and then a message appears on the Sync 2 - 'iPhone disconnected' When the problem manifested, i immediately rolled back to iOS11and all was fine. I then got the official iOS 12 and same thing happened - iPhone would disconnect from USB ( Bluetooth is always fine) Then got the iPhone XS Max and the same thing. Updated to iOS12.1 and that didn't resolve the issue I have clean installed the iOS from factory settings as well. I have reset Sync 2. This for me appears to be an iOS12 issue. Apple are looking into it with an open ticket. I have sent them log files and they connected to the phone remotely and took logs as the fault manifested live, and they have video as well. They said that they have other cases with the same issue. My Sync2 appears to be unto date too I hope they fix it or Apple and Ford talk to each other and fix issue

I have a 2015 Mustang GT with the 8" touchscreen and Sync 2 / MyFordTouch. I'd like to upgrade to SYNC 3 which appears to require a whole new head unit. It looks like the units are starting to trickle out (There's one here) and I'm just wondering if A) all the connectors will be the same and if everything will "just work", like my climate controls, remote start etc. It's pretty new so I'm not expecting many success stories yet but I do see some ford techs on this forum so perhaps they'd be able to offer some information. It stinks that my shiny almost-new car is stuck with this 5 year old technology and there's no other option (that I can find) to get a modern head unit. Thanks in advance.
