  1. Pulling and replacing the Sync fuse (#13 in the fuse block under the hood on the Fusion) fixed the problem - and none of the settings were lost.
  2. There is a thread over on Owner to Owner that does say the Sync fuse (or "Fuse Reboot") will fix it, but the problem may return... Someone also claimed there is a TSB on this now.
  3. Bizarre! Right after I read this post I unplugged my WD Passport drive from my computer, hopped in the car and plugged it back in the console and guess what? Tracks play but no audio! I did a master reset, but all that accomplished was forgetting my settings and cell phone pairing. I don't want to pull the Sync fuse yet. I'm wondering if there is something about the media itself... I unplugged when it wasn't being accessed but I didn't use "Safely Remove Hardware".
  4. I totally agree - that's where the keyword "optionally" comes into play. I happen to disagree with the design so the quality of the implementation is irrelevant. I have seen alternate designs that I prefer.
  5. The scrolling is already there - it's just button activated instead of automatic. It's probably less safe to reach over and push a small button on the radio than just glance over.
  6. I had an older JVC-LX111 in a previous car that did it. I also dislike scrolling through track information and having to double-tap to move to the next field on long names.
  7. I've recently switched from my 2nd gen Nano to a WD Passport portable HD, so I can't use the iPod's internal shuffle to do that.
  8. That reminds me of an old Aero (chocolate bar) commercial - "Enough 'bing'-ing already!" But the double tap works nicely, as long as it's in the mode you want I suppose.
  9. I just found out that you can't use the term "title" or "titles" in a post on O2O. However, I can use the term "entitled". This is not moderator rejection, it's automatically flagged on message preview. What's with that?
  10. I wish the display on the 2-line headunits would optionally autoscroll instead of me having to press the text key to see the rest of the title. It should show the first portion for a few seconds, then scroll to the end and wait a few seconds, then repeat. Does Ford have an official channel for feature requests?
  11. That doesn't completely kill the prompts though. (On non-Nav radios at least.) When I press the sync button on the wheel the mode is still announced ("Phone" or "USB").
  12. 1) Set shuffle on 2) Play all on USB device (2nd gen iPod Nano) 3) Next track is randomized 4) Turn off car 5) Turn on car 6) USB picks up exactly where it left off 7) Next track is ordered, not randomized 8) Check shuffle - it's set to "on" 9) Select play all again - random track is started 10) Next track is randomized Ok, so the shuffle only works with the Play All mode? And Play All mode is reset when the ignition is cycled? This seems wrong to me. If it was in Play All when I turned the car off, it should remain in that mode when I turn it back on.
  13. I didn't have a problem turning the prompts off - if I forget the options I just say, "help."
  14. Ford says, "You don't, but that's an interesting idea. Thanks for the feedback." So I set Interaction Mode Advanced to help somewhat.
  15. Just got a Fusion with Sync, w/o nav system. This is something I can't find in a search or in the manual: How do I set the volume of the voice prompts? I find the voice prompts a bit too loud. I can turn the volume down when the prompt is playing and it will use the lower volume for that session. However, when I press the speak or phone button the prompt volume resets to the default.
