  1. I tried that and introduced the car as a new connection. Works fine now so also upgraded to the new AA interface. So thanks for the advice - worked perfectly.
  2. My car (2017+ Fiesta) updated Sync 3 to the latest version overnight. Now Android Auto tries to connect but without success. Sometimes a screen comes up asking me to set some options for the USB connection. Any ideas how to fix this please?
  3. That's bad news. But explains why I couldn't find the app on Sync 3 (ensuring the app was running first on my phone didn't help).
  4. I have a Sync 3 system in a 2017+ current generation Ford Fiesta. For the past couple of weeks the Spotify app has no longer been visible in the list of music sources. I've tried updating the apps and it still isn't visible. The Sync 3 OS updated to version 2.3 after the problem appeared, ie the problem was there before the firmware upgrade and was not fixed by it. Any suggestions?
  5. Thanks Pasty. What sequence do you do things in whrm getting in and out of the car? Do you plug in the USB before or after switching the car on so the Sync powers up? Do you open the Android Auto app before doing that? And what about when you've finished the journey? Seems whatever you're doing may be largely working.
  6. I have a 2017+ Ford Fiesta with Sync 3 and 8in touchscreen and a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone. I'm in the UK. Since buying the car in late October I've found some glitches in how the car and phone work together through Android Auto. For example: - Sometimes if I'm listening to Spotify via AA then make or receive a phone call, after the call the audio is coming only from the front speakers or goes to the radio rather than returning to Spotify - Sometimes when I connect the phone to the car via a USB cable the connection isn't made first time and I have to try again These aren't enormous problems but they're irritating. I wonder if how I connect the two could be to blame. So I have some questions: - Given that Android Auto works via a USB cable rather than Bluetooth, should I switch off Bluetooth entirely, or is it needed for AA to function? - What is the optimum sequence of events when connecting and disconnecting? Currently I switch on the car's ignition, wait for Sync 3 to start up and make a Bluetooth connection to the phone, then connect the cable. Most times (but not always), AA then starts up. When I leave the car I switch off the engine, then open the door so Sync 3 switches off, then when the screen is blank I disconnect the USB lead. Is this the right way to do it? Can the Sync 3 on/off switch be used in any way? Any tips on how to make the Sync 3 Android Auto experience glitch-free would be appreciated.
  7. Thanks. Where is the privacy mode you refer to? In which app, or where in the phone's settings?
  8. I have a new-shape Ford Fiesta with SYNC 3 and a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Android Auto appears to work most of the time, until I make or receive a phone call. After that, any music playing through Spotify or Google Play in Android Auto no longer comes through the car speakers but instead through the one built into the phone. Or occasionally it still comes through the car but just the front speakers. I'm using Samsung's original USB cable and have tried reinstalling Android Auto and reintroducing car and phone both through Bluetooth and Android Auto. All permissions are on. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
