  1. Hello Darg, This is it. the supplement I was handed by the dealer (did not come with the car) was the Nav one, and I assumed it is the only supplement available. Thanks for the link. I will save the PDF and read it more carefully. I sure am disappointed with my salesman. I did consider the Nav system but decided against it. Had I known this difference beforehand, my decision may have been different.
  2. Hello Darg, The link you provided points the the same list I referred to in my original post. Perhaps I was not clear enough when I mentioned the manual. I actually meant the Sync Supplement, maybe you could be kind enough to point the pages where this info is found, I would really appreciate it. The Supplement mentions all these commands but I appears it assumes everybody has Navigation since it always refers to the navigation screen. How about non-nav systems? There is nowhere I could find which voice commands are supported there. In all honesty, if I cannot control Radio or Climate, by means of voice commands unless I had the Nav system, then my salesman did an extremely lousy job describing the system to me. Many thanks...
  3. Hello forum members. I have Sync on my 2010 Fusion (standard radio, no Navigation). It appears that not all Sync commands are recognizable by voice command. I do understand that without Nav, I cannot get Route status or other navigation specific features. Also, living in Canada, we do not have other services such as Vehicle Health Report. But what about basic radio functionality, should I be able to select a preset, for example, or switch to a different Sirius SAT or channel using voice command? The funny thing is that when I say "Help", it lists some commands including unavailable ones (such as "Vehicle Health Report" or Navigation related commands such as. "Next turn" ). I found a list of Sync commands on fordfusionforum and it has commands for climate control. While I do have the dual zone auto climate control, Sync does not respond to climate control voice commands. So the question is: which Sync commands are available, and are they all voice activated? I tried the user manual but either I lack the required IQ to find the info , or it plain simply does not provide any.
  4. Hi Reemus, Thank you for the suggestion. My phone does not acknowledge the * as a pause digit. When I replace the 'p' with a '*' (or a '**' sequence) I get an error message from the phone company (land line, not my Cell provider) indicating it is unable to place the call as dialed. It appears the phone tried to dial the * in as opposed to pause on it. Still, I will hold on to the changes in my contacts until I try to download it to sync and try it from there.
  5. I have the phone and a 2010 Fusion SEL. It works fine and can hang up using the phone button on the steering wheel. You need to hold the button down for a while, though. (until the display shows "Call Ended" ). One thing that irritates me is that when I downloaded the phonebook, SYNC removed extra dialing digits. e.g."John's phone number is 555 222 3333 p 1234, where 'p' is the "Pause" digit and 1234 is the extension. When I downloaded the phonebook, John's number came down as 555 222 3333. I get around this by dialing John's entry from the phone itself instead of using voice command (I placed it on one of the speed dial buttons).
  6. Hello Fitibaldi1, I was unable to change 'p' for 'w'. My phone only allows '*' (press the [*] key), 'p' (press and hold [*]), '+' (press and hold [0]), and '#' (press the [#] key) when editing phone numbers. Just to be clear on the actual problem, if I make the call out of my phone (e.g I use the phones' speed-dial keys), it dials properly. My issue is when I use voice control to make a call from SYNC's downloaded phonebook. For example, when I activate voice commands and say "call John"; SYNC dials the phone number only since it discarded the 'p' and subsequent numbers for John's entry when it downloaded the phonebook.
  7. Thank you Fitipaldi1, I will try to do so. I fail to understand how SYNC which is all about voice command would have you scrolling down menus watching the radio screen instead of watching the road ahead while driving
  8. I paired my phone to Sync and downloaded the address book. So far it is working great except that I have programmed a few numbers with a pause followed by the extension of the person. SYNC only dials the 10-digit number but not the extension (if I dial the number from my phone directly, the phone dials the 10-digit number, pauses enough for the call to connect, then it dials the extension). I tried to dial the extension on the keypad but the numbers just sit there on the display and are not transmitted as DTMF signals. I tried to press OK after keying in the extension but it terminated my call and appeared to attempt to dial the extension anew. I accept that SYNC may not understand the pause and extension parts of my phone's address book. Can I modify the entry downloaded to SYNC to achieve the same result? If not, how do I manually dial extensions after the call is connected? 2010 SEL non-nav.
  9. Thank you LarryQW, I know I should have ordered the Nav system Is there a way to select without the Nav screen?
  10. Apologies if the answer is in user manual (haven't taken delivery of car yet). Will Sync pair to more than one phone simultaneously? If so which one will be used to send/receive calls with voice command when both phones are in the car?
