  1. So, I was able to get my 2016 Edge Titanium (Sync3 Nav) updated to v3.0, and played the games the dealers in Dallas like to play with their lack of knowledge. Finally found Five Star Ford of Plano has a parts guy that was pretty savvy in finding what I needed for the nav data update. I was the first customer he worked with on this specific update. Picked up the USB nav update today and got it installed; took about 25 min with the CarPlay/AA USB hub. My biggest concern was the issue that NA 1.14 had where the software would refuse to navigate you on any toll road - no matter the setting and very annoying. If youve noticed this, too, youll be happy to learn that I tested this after the NA 1.16 update and this issue has been fixed. Im now able to navigate on toll roads and Sirius XM traffic also looks cleaner. Tex
  2. Oh, and yes, I went to their crap dealership and they wanted to charge me $500+ to add a $50 part so I could access Apple CarPlay. Oh, and at first they thought I was an idiot and had no clue the part needed even existed - they said it was a standard Sync3 update I could do at home (their techs are just as confused as their customers). So, guess whos a smart DIYer!? Yeah, bought the USB compatible Android/CarPlay unit at their own shop (they even price matched the part number) and swapped it out myself. So now I primarily use Apple Maps with CarPlay because their out of date internal nav database is so obsolete that it's useless. Phone data works great until youre in the sticks and have horrible signal, which is where an INTERNAL UPDATED NAV DATABASE would come in quite handy. Thanks a lot FORD, for stiffing your customers! Found On Road Dead! I'm not furious about this subject or anything....(sarcasm).
  3. Same here as well. I have a 2016 Edge Titanium that I bought new off the lot in Dallas in July of 2016. My internal map data is the later, 1-14; meaning first quarter of 2014. That's the date of that particular release, who knows how behind that releases' data actually is. One huge issue with the 1-14 nav data is the damn toll roads - it's always rerouting to avoid all DFW toll roads no matter what my settings preferences are set to. This is a big deal, and is completely internal to the algorithms set inside the nav database, not the Sync3 version you're currently running. I cannot believe how out of touch Ford has become with their customers. Every other vehicle manufacturer has an A8 map version update that's compatible with secure USB, just go to here.navigation.com and look for a 2016 or newer GMC. They say they have an update available on USB drive - essential for us with newer Ford vehicles that have ditched the SD card slots that our updates used to be loaded on to. When I call Ford, or Here, one will always refer me to the other in an endless circle jerk of screwing around their customer base. I really like Ford, but as they've come back from the brink of bankruptcy and folding forever, they again have become arrogant POSs that could give two craps that your nav (that we paid premium for) is out of date!!! Severely out-of-date data essentially makes our navigation useless. Rant over!!
