Hello Awk13,
I have experienced the same thing and know how frustrating it can be. Especially when traveling in an area you're not familiar with, when you don't realize the directions the GPS unit is providing aren't correct.
This is made even worse when you're time-crunched, have an appointment, etc.
However, the bad GPS navigation advice I'm recalling was given by my Garmin Nuvi device, and not by my Lincoln MKX Sync 3 GPS. I haven't gotten bad navigation from Sync 3 yet, but my Lincoln MKX is a relatively new member of the family. Nonetheless, certainly not doubting what you've experienced.
My point is, no GPS device is 100% perfect 100% of the time. But they're still pretty amazing, especially given the enormous complexity of the task at hand.
In fairness, I'd say the directions from my GPS devices are correct 99.9% of the time. I've traveled with my Garmin Nuvi, using it in rental cars, etc., for years. It's been a life saver many, many times.
Perhaps send documentation of your Toronto airport area nav problem here?
