  1. Don't be hasty, rhopkins. Having dealt with both droid and apple, from durability to reliability to the app store to American-based customer service, Apple is outstanding. Not hard to deal with at all...
  2. Using Ralph7Up's items 3 and 4 are how I get Pandora to work with my 2016 MKX Sync 3. I don't use CarPlay, and for now will continue using Sync 3 until presently lame CarPlay improves. Simply start Pandora on your iPhone and keep it running. Plug your iPhone into a USB port using your lightning (charging) cable. Choose USB as your audio source. Works for me... Hope this helps!
  3. Such a great idea that I haven't yet done. Just for fun, try telling Sync 3 "I'm hungry" and see what happens... Too funny, and an way to impress your "easily amused" passengers... Lol! Timmer
  4. I too have issues and intermittent glitches with my 2016 MKX Sync 3.2.0, among other technical concerns. What is especially frustrating is being given different answers/solutions from various service support contacts ranging from my dealer to Ford/Lincoln, only to have none of the recommended procedures solve the problem. As an example, I've now been told several times to do a "complete system reset" to factory default settings. This recommendation often is coming from someone in a call center reading a script from their computer. Thus far, the master resets have accomplished nothing except losing all of my settings and personal preferences. There is seemingly no ability to escalate a problem to Ford/Lincoln advanced support or someone with actual technical or engineering expertise. Support issues with maps, navigation, etc., frequently need to be answered by third party vendor/suppliers outside of Ford/Lincoln and there is no easy communication path to reach them. Unfortunately, it also seems that the internal Ford/Lincoln teams / departments / personnel don't necessarily communicate with each other effectively or problem solve together. In fairness, there is at least one Sync support person from Ford that reads this forum and tries to help. With all this said, I love my MKX and remain a loyal Ford/Lincoln customer, preferring to buy and drive domestic vehicles and to support an American based company. (For what that's worth.) Also, from what I've heard and read, technical support is just as bad, if not worse with most other auto brands. My $0.02...
  5. Hello Awk13, I have experienced the same thing and know how frustrating it can be. Especially when traveling in an area you're not familiar with, when you don't realize the directions the GPS unit is providing aren't correct. This is made even worse when you're time-crunched, have an appointment, etc. However, the bad GPS navigation advice I'm recalling was given by my Garmin Nuvi device, and not by my Lincoln MKX Sync 3 GPS. I haven't gotten bad navigation from Sync 3 yet, but my Lincoln MKX is a relatively new member of the family. Nonetheless, certainly not doubting what you've experienced. My point is, no GPS device is 100% perfect 100% of the time. But they're still pretty amazing, especially given the enormous complexity of the task at hand. In fairness, I'd say the directions from my GPS devices are correct 99.9% of the time. I've traveled with my Garmin Nuvi, using it in rental cars, etc., for years. It's been a life saver many, many times. Perhaps send documentation of your Toronto airport area nav problem here? 6. That is great news, Polska2180. Where did you see that announcement? Can you provide the source or a link to it? Thanks! Timmer
  7. darrink1, I agree 100% with your post and wish list. I'd really appreciate seeing the WAZE app become compatible with CarPlay/AndroidAuto. I'll suggest that letting the app developers know our concerns and wishes directly would be most helpful. A bit of time and effort, I know. But a timely "old school" letter sent via snail mail, an email and/or a phone calling campaign directed at the app developers may be the best bets to make something happen along these lines. But I could be wrong... Timmer
  8. PajamaGuy, I believe there is a control somewhere in the infotainment system (touch screen) to set your muting preferences. At least as it relates to phone calls, but perhaps the other activities you've mentioned as well. I may have read something about it in my owner's manual or in the SYNC 3 supplement? Or perhaps it was on one of the video tutorials on YouTube? Can't recall... Let us know how it resolves. Timmer
