  1. quick answer going from Sync 2 to Sync 3 has been done.... cost can be 100-and up depending on your budget As far as the doing part, read all the postings here Google Maps and Waze need Sync 3 3.x and that part would depend on what you currently have
  2. Unsure what you were doing , The OS update and the Maps update are seperate. In your 2nd post, you don't say what the updates are at. Ford/Lincolns are very picky about what drives they will work with. Even if it's posted here that it took (or did not take) one that was listed here. I've had it happen, and it is very odd. I do see that you started out with an 8gig, then went to a 16 gig 8 might not have been enough space, 16 would definitely be large enough. Just so you know that updating the Software can take a while (I would go for long drives....) 1-2 hours would be about right. Map update depends on what it's updating. Maybe the same amount of time.
  3. As I have said before, it's NOT just to put the one (1) file on a flash drive.... Plus , and this time, if it's working fine, please do not update.... you 'might' have issues... 3.10 seemed to have issues with 'some' vehicles, this is why there is a 3.11 and even then Sync 4 it what is currently coming out with with Sync 5 coming out eventually, Sync 2 was discontinued a LONG time ago.. HAha... even my Tag line is not up to date, I don't have the Lincoln anymore....
  4. Did you have it do an update? Did it do an update? Have you tried a Factory Reset ? (only deletes settings)
  5. Coudl a compatibility issue, https://www.ford.ie/owner/resources-and-support/sync/sync-1#:~:text=SYNC is a voice activated, more within your owner manual. Another thought, is that I bet you are trying to set up a modern phone. That version of the OS is probably BlueTooth 1 maybe 2, and I bet your current phone does not work with or have BT 1 or 2
  6. Just as a thought.... because you are in Canada, could be why. Yes, I know it's NA, but the site might have some glitches about that. Going from 2020 to 2022 might not give you what you are looking for anyway. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Hope it gets resolved soon, or at least wait till 2023 or 24 come out. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. Could be overheating of the screen , could be a lot of things... if you are in fact running the latest software update that the 2019 edge can have, then it's best to take it to a dealer to see what is up. If your vehicle is still under a warranty, then I really advise taking it in if not , take it in would tell what it is and possibly the cost from them to do it.....
  8. NA 2 22 would be if it was North America 2022 (I forget what the 2 ment)(I'm sure someone will fill it in) So you can wait for a reply or wait some time to see if it gets better... going from 2 20 to 2 22 could only mean a street was added or POI updated, or a bug fix.... so in the long run if it's working just fine for your area, you can skip this one... 3.4.xxxxxxx does not seem to matter for you at this time. The odd thing is that it's giving you the error.... that 'could' be that it as made available , but it has too many bugs for them to allow it to get used.... I'm sure if someone here has downloaded what you need and it's working fine, they can tell you what the differences are (2020 to 2022)
  9. Ok, fair enough.... what version of the Maps are you on now? And is this a small increment (i.e. going from .001 to .002<or something like that>) or would you be going big, like going from 2.x to 3.x ?
  10. Just to toss this out there.... Are you downloading to your computer first, then copying the files to a flash drive? How Fast is your internet connection (speed Test it if you do not know) what ite are you getting the file from?
  11. Yes, BT can be flaky... but remember that you have a 13 year old car, using 13 year old software (including BT) and I bet you have a modern iphone, that may or may not like your old system. SyncMyRide, for that car probably has not been updated in a very long time.... and why it tells you there are no updates, most likely because there are none for that car if you like your car, there are a few options. Swap out the hardware for something more modern, or trade up.. OR, live with it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. Depending on how you did the upgrade, if all you did is swap or add, then you will need to gt the updated based on what you swapped or updated, as your old VIN will no longer work. As far as BT working, see what it's paired with already and delete those, and then added your own phone...
  13. I did not think that the XML file was generated when only update the MAPS, but does when you update the OS....
  14. There is a way to gain the HD ability, but it means swapping the ACM (part that has the CD player and radio) out for one that has HD capabilities.... Some programing might be needed to let the vehicle know you did that car-parts.com , see if there is one there from a newer vehicle, and either do it yourself, or pay to get it done.. and then once you update that part, you might not be able to update based on the VIN, .... Don't know if Dan needs to get involved for that...
  15. Something to check... When you formated the drive, on a mac make sure you are adding the MBR feature... I think Windows automatically does that... The 2 files and one forder thing tells me you are doing that right... When you want to the ford site, you go the one for your VIN ? I ask because a 2019 might not have had 3.4 , so I'm making sure...
