  1. Ford help line is a times clueless. Build 19025 was downloaded off of the Ford My Owner website and was installed on October 5, 2019 for my Ford Escape Titanium with Navigation.
  2. Welcome to the wonderful world of Ford Sync support. I have had many of these exact problems as well. Currently have Build 19025 installed on my 2018 Escape Titanium. Ford was of no help during the process. I, like others can never get the Ford site to acknowlege my succesfull update so it constantly tells me I have an update available when I already have it. Voice support is useless and often misleading.
  3. I have Build 19025 downloaded and installed on my ford 2018 Escape Titanium. It has been quite a while (October 2019) since it was availble for me. I downloaded it from my "my owner site" transferred it to USB and did the install. I agree with an earlier post that the Ford site is wonky. Actually it and the Ford help folks must think we are all mushrooms.
  4. It should require a hardware upgrade to go to Apple Car Play and you must have it connected via USB on current models. I do not know about the future. I had to change the USB HUB on my 2016 Escape to get it. My 2018 came with the hardware.
  5. My experience is the same. I successfully updated to Build 18093 for my 2018 Escape Titanium on August 31, 2018. I have lost count of the number of times I uploaded data from the drive to report that successful connection since then. Each time I get the message from the myowner site of a successful connection but also each time nothing changes and the site continues to say I need to report my update. I called Ford again about three weeks since my last call regarding this matter. The rep continues to say it is a "known issue" and the IT folks are working on it. Same as three weeks ago. Also, this is not a new problem. I have had the same issues with my 2016. These problems have been going on for about one year. So they have been unable to correct things after one year! This is pitiful! One thing new that I learned today is that the rep told me they have been getting lots of complaints. She is unable to kick me upstairs to someone who has more technical information. KIND OF MAKE YOU WONDER ABOUT THE RELIABILITY OF THE OTHER DATA ON MY OWNER DOES IT NOT?
  6. Yes, but............................. Not OEM. Some would consider it expensive as it involves both hardware and software. Updates may be an issue. There are several locations where this is discussed in detail. I have chosed not to do it for a number of reasons so you will need to do the research yourself to see if you want to attempt it or have it done.
  7. What vehicle and what version of Sync? ex. Sync 3.X. I have not seen that yet.
  8. The 2.2 update is likely not for you as an owner of a 2017. As a 2017 owner, you already had AA/CP. The 2016 owners did not. This was to bring them up to where your are. BTW. We also had to pay for a hardware update if we intend to use CP. You already have that hardware. The best place to check if you have any updates is your "my owner" page which is specific to your vehicle.
  9. I made the update for my 2016 Escape. It was available on the my owner site via USB update or via wifi which I had turned off. I updated successfully via USB and upgraded the hub on my own as I have an iPhone. Check your my owner site. It should tell you if/when you have an update available. BTW, I prefer the ford Sync 3 system as opposed to Apple Carplay. Just did enough to verify that carplay worked and that has been it so far.
  10. Not completely sure yet as I am not yet up and running on CP. Will test as soon as new hub comes in. I recall from reading that you must choose one or other (CP or Ford) entertainment/navigation. I believe this is done from the settings tab where one chooses car play to be active. When in CP, there is limited functionality of some Ford controls (climate and maybe others). I am thinking that I will NOT use CP much due to this restriction. Besides, I do like the Ford navigation.
  11. Since I never had this problem in my 2016 and still do not, I am unable to speculate. Ideas: A call to Ford??? I have attempted that and I feel your pain. I still do no know if my 2.2 would work for you. Updates on the my owner site are vehicle specific.
  12. This update MAY not apply to your vehicle. The 2.2 update is for 2016 vehicles (Escape) that did not initially have AA and Car Play. You should already have these. Best place to check is your my owner site. Hope this helps.
  13. Try the fordescape.org site for some additional experiences by owners. I got my "legal" USB update to finally work but had some difficulty. After a hard "reset" (lose all data) it did work and I am enjoying it. Others have reported difficulty with the USB update.
  14. Ford VERY occasionally may answer some questions. This is not a Ford site and your best bet is to hope for a response from a fellow user. Having said that, I feel your pain about Ford's responsiveness for Sync.
  15. You failed to mention which Sync, 2 or 3. However, a likely cause of no text messages is that when you deleted Sync from the car and the phone and then re-synced, you may have forgotten to turn on notification on your phone. Check that. Also, since everything was re-set, go back through all your setting on the car and make sure they are where they were before you re-paired.
  16. Thanks. Same as for my Escape. I am a bit surprised that your Ford dealer did not know that the software was not yet available for your vehicle. While not perfect, my dealer knows at least that.
  17. Could you report back on your experience with the SyncMyRide site? Specifically, is the update available for your 2016 vehicle. I have a 2016 Escape and this whole issue is well known. Ford promised availability of upgrade to AA/CP by end of 2016 for us but has failed to deliver. Many Escape owners have obtained a bootleg copy of the upgrade (2.0) for sync 3 and most are reporting successful installs. when I connect to the myowner site (used to be sync my ride) , I still get the message that the software I have is the latest and greatest. Ford has gone silent on this matter for Escape owners.
  18. Sync 3 first installed on some 2016 vehicles. Was yours a non OEM retrofit?
  19. Kind of looks that way to me from the "build" site. However, I would confirm with dealer just to be sure. There also appears to be a technology upgrade with the SE package that has more gizmos. Do not know if the advertised Sync connect has all same functions or not. I DO NOT have any of that functionality (connect) on my 2016 Titanium. Stuff was added for the 2017 MY.
  20. The general feeling that I have is that the "factory" remote start (from app and/fob) may be specific to the year, trim level, and options available to the car. Perhaps an easy way to get a handle on this is to go to the Ford build a car web site and go through the process there. Another way is to ask the dealer this question. I wish I could be more help but I only have fob remote start on my 2016 Escape. The app remote start requires a built in modem. Those do come from the factory and there are threads on the escape.org web site.
  21. Just curious. Is the update that you installed an "official" Ford update available on the my owner site or was it the "bootleg"? If it was the bootleg is there any way to revert back to a previous edition? Thanks
  22. What device are you trying? My experience is that you will have difficulty with the iPod Classic and the iPod Nano should work. That is the way it is for me with my 2016 Escape with Sync 3.
  23. "Say it ain't so Joe". Must be different as I just went to my site and I "have got the latest" with my Sync3v1.1. Oh well, I guess us lowly 2016 Ford Titanium owners will have to continue to wait. Hope it comes this year<sigh>!
  24. This is a bootlegged update and not supported by the dealers or Ford yet. Most folks interested in the update have 2016 vehicles such as my 2016 Escape which has Sync 3 BUT NOT Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Since you already have those (with AA and CP I think), there should be no need for you to consider this update. Since it is boot legged, you are updating at your own risk.
