  1. Well, I think I've found a bug in v4.6. In post #7 above I described the "wrong song" problem I was having with v4.4. Turns out that upon installation v4.6 defaults to shuffle "off" in the media settings. After noticing the playback on USB was following alphabetical order I changed the media setting to shuffle "on". The problem of getting the wrong song immediately reappeared. I'm thinking this was the problem with v4.4 as well, though I would be surprised my dealer didn't try that. Evidently sync includes your song request as random and shuffles your request to some other randomly chosen song. Here's where the bug shows up though, I could not change the setting back to Shuffle "off" after many, many tries. Instead of toggling the setting on and off, the display would change back to regular play mode showing the current tract every time. Sync re-boot didn't help either so I finally performed a master re-set and that returned the shuffle setting to "off" again. Now when I request a specific song I actually get the desired correct song. So the main bug is that you cannot turn shuffle off once it's been turned on and a background bug is that when shuffle is on, it also shuffles away from a specific song request, which I don't think should be the case. This latter bug wouldn't that big a deal if it were easy to turn shuffle on and off, i.e. the first bug. How soon 'till v4.7 or 4.8? :-(
  2. Looks like v4.6 is now available to me today! I was able to download and install it without any evident problems. Took between 10-15 minutes to complete. At least temporarily it appears to have fixed the problem where when I requested a specific tract, Sync would correctly repeat the name of the tract I requested but then play an unrelated song instead. Repeating the request, again Sync would announce confirmation of the correct tract name and then play another different unrelated song. Even selecting the song via the dash controls caused the same problem. Select a particular song and Sync would decide to just randomly play something else instead. This makes it impossible to select a specific song. This was my main gripe about v4.4 after I installed it. I'll reserve judgement on a complete fix until some period time has passed because I was able to correct this problem temporarily by just re-installing v4.4 as well but it would revert to the problem after a few days. Wow nearly a year after I was told it was coming soon. Better late than never, at least I hope so!
  3. Thanks Cara, will it eventually roll out to the Mustang? I have a 2013 GT Premium with Sync, no navigation.
  4. Seriously, v4.6 is out? The ford owner site says I'm up to date with v4.4. (just checked)
  5. My radio display (not the my ford touch system) will scroll once if I touch the "text" button. I don't think there's a setting to make it continuously scroll though.
  6. Yup same problem here. Funny it was there and I was using it yesterday.... They must have snuck into my garage and uninstalled it!
  7. This sounds like the same problem I have. The program installs OK but errors when you try to run it and tells me I must have iTunes installed on my computer (which of course I do).
  8. Wiil v4.6 require dealer installation? I'm still not seeing it available at Fordowner.com
  9. Yeah, I've set an appointment for the 24th, but things in life have come up and I have to change it. Because of my job, I can only get to the dealer on Saturday and their sync expert is only there every other weekend, so no chance to get it looked at until the middle of June! UPDATE: I tried to run syncmyride again, thinking maybe I needed to have iTunes open first, but now it thinks I don't have iTunes on my computer at all and asks me if I want to down load it or not. Whichever choice I make, syncmyride tells me it's closing down. I went so far as to try re-installing iTunes, it gives you a repair or remove option, so I picked repair. After restarting the computer and attempting to run syncmyride again, it still tells me I need to have iTunes installed and again asks me to down load it or not. I tried a fresh download and re-installation of syncmyride with the same results. I don't suppose the dealer can help me with that one!
  10. With my Mustang, adjusting the volume while the sync lady is speaking seems to help without changing the volume overall.
  11. Thanks Rebecca, I've tried the Sync my tunes many many times on my computer where my iTunes lives, but the process refuses to complete. Keeps giving me an error that iTunes is busy and to try again later or some such. I've tried running this under as many different conditions as I could think of and no joy. I even checked a setting within the iTunes preferences as I was instructed when it didn't work the first time. The setting (I forget now) was already set correctly according to I think your's or Kim's advice. This last update is a real mess... Is there a way to roll back to the previous version or at least obtain a new download, on the theory there was something corrupted in the one I'm using?
  12. Update: Since I figured I was dealer-bound to fix this problem anyway, I decided to try re-installing the v4.4 update again since I still had the downloaded files on my computer. I set up a fresh USB stick containing only the unzipped files and performed the update again from scratch. Guess what? It seems to have worked. Sync started repeating and playing the correct track title back to me but only a few times, then it went back to picking random tracks again. Guess I'm off to the dealer for this one...
  13. Running Sync version 4.4 and it has created a lot of new problems. The most annoying one is that when I ask Sync to play a particular track, it correctly repeats the name of the track I requested but then plays a different one instead. If I try again with the same track request, Sync then selects yet another incorrect song. The titles of the tracks it plays don't sound anything like the one I requested and it is accurately repeating the song name to me. It's not even consistent, in that it will play a different wrong track each time I request the same track. When I ask Sync to play a particular artist it accurately repeats the artist's name and then correctly begins playing tracks by the requested artist. It used to work that way for song tracks too, but no longer. I've tried resetting my iPod Classic (same media source I've always used) and I've performed a master re-set of the Sync system. So far nothing has helped. Has anyone else experienced this and discovered the fix?
