  1. Hello brownel02, there is not a solution to your issue nor a work around unless you use your phone directly to reply to your message while driving. Beleive there is no voice to text recognition used by MFT/MLT/Sync.

  3. Hi Rick, Responding to your questions, Sync is (was) not defective nor it was user error. When taking delivery of the car, Sync and MFT voice commands (all of them) were fully functional. The issue showed after the 2012 Fall update. Re: Language, English. (fully bilingual). Understand that Sync can use Spanish as well, but never tried. My son told me that it was a programing issue and in fact it was. After the last update V3.6.2, it is fully functional. No need to replace the APIM which is the heart of the system. R
  4. Happy to say that after the latest update (3.6.2) all the issues (only one) is gone. MFT is fully operational. With the exception of the VHR and 911 features (those are Sync) which are blocked in my region.
  5. Update: Since my last post October 25th/2012 (my apologies I was having issues with my computer), they loaded the 3.5.1 update into MFT. A few things have changed since then. 1) Before: no Sirius recognition at all by voice commands. After: Sirius command is recognized 2) Before: no Sirius recognition of Sirius (station name or number) voice command. After: problem persists 3) Before: no Sirius recognition of Sirius - Sat 1/2/3 - Preset 1-6 voice command. After: problem fixed. After reloading the Sirius patch, still not recognizing the channel listing, it is like is not there. Other than that MFT is working fine.
  6. I just wanted to check if there was a solution to the flaw w/o visiting the dealer, but the bottom line is that I have to. Again, thanks for your assistance in this matter, will keep you posted as particulars develop. :worm:
  7. ladybird4, many thanks for your pointers in this thread. Indeed they are valuable. FYI, I can use ALL of Sync commands with MFT. Sirius radio works flawless, manual tunning is the norm for now. With regards of the Sync hotline, well, that is another subject of discussion as the number given in syncmyride directs me to Road Assistance. For some reason the hotline number is blocked for our area and does not allows us to talk to a technical representative and kind of talk the issue over the phone (unreal). Where we live there is good satellite and repeater reception, no complaints about that, quality of sound is good and interruptions are minimal. It is just Sync not answering my Sirius command. The dealer does not have a Sync trainer (that I know), my sales rep., although he knows most of the stuff, he usually calls me if he has any questions, but he is pretty good at it, I have talked quite extensively with him about the issue. I will wait for the service visit and will let you all know what happens. Yesterday I got word that the MFT/Sync "guru" is on vacation and I am waiting to hear when he will be back and take in the EX. Other than that, MFT/Sync is GREAT!!!!! :shades: BTW: What is the aprim (acronym)? Found it: The SYNC computer, which Ford calls the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM).
  8. In addition I uploaded into MFT the Sirius command patch mentioned in the Owner-to-Owner section of SMR. No luck either. I have called the dealer to schedule another service visit.
  9. ladybird4/rockchie, when I did the service appointment for this issue I talked to the service rep @ the dealer and he told me (instructed by supervisor) to pull the battery cable (negative) with the headlights on for at least 10 minutes. I did that and no luck. I do have a Ford Owner account as well as a Syncmyride.com. My vehicle holds the current 3.2.2 MFT version. I do not have any issues whatsoever with the system, the only voice command not recognized is Sirius with the exception of Sirius Off, then the radio shuts off. During the service call they did reloaded 3.2.2 and when I picked up the car I tried the command and still was doing the same thing, they took the car back and they said that after a few tries the command worked. I know this should not be like that and this is something that you do not want to take the car again for service maybe for a couple of days or so. In reference to VHR, well, although I know about it, it is not activated for Ford vehicles in PR. I honestly beleive this is a programing flaw or perhaps to the extent of relacing the Sync module as ladybir4 suggested. I have check every possible forum outhere and have seen people with the same issue but no one has come with a solution with the exception of the Syncmyride Owner to Owner, like for example: re-sending an activation signal from Sirius and/or replacing the Sync module.
