So I finally updated my factory installed Sync 3, 2.0 in my 2017 to Sync 3, 3.0. I know there are updates over the 3.0, but the Ford owners site says my software is up to date? Has anyone installed anything newer from the Ford site. thanks lenny

Hi I’m still running the Sync that was pre installed in my 2017 Titanium at the factory. It’s Sync 3 V2. The web site says to up date to Version 3. Any feed back on pros or cons? Im curious if there’s any new or improved features. Ive read a couple of negatives and was wondering if they have been worked out. One was the radio reverting back to AM every restart Two, a warning that pops up every restart about connecting to WiFi Or should I pretty much leave it alone. If it ain’t broke, don’t touch it. I’ve seen this posted in multiple places. They all say it started with the upgrade to 3.0. I’m holding off updating till this is addressed. Maybe the Ford people can chirp in. Lenny

My 2017 Edge, built December 2016 came with 2.0 factory installed. The My Ford web site says that theres a new version 2.3 available for my car. While getting my vehicle serviced at Ford, I asked them to do the update. When I picked up the car, they said when they plugged the car in there system told them there wasnt an update available. I cant seem to get the update to install by WiFi. My system is fine, so Im a little nervous about trying it by usb. Is there anything in the update worth trying it or should I just leave good enough alone. Thanks Lenny

Just picked up my Edge Titaniam yesterday. For the life of me I can not get Ford Pass to show up on the screen. I've plugged my iPhone 6 into the usb and apple car play pops up and the apps icon is greyed out. I've turned apple play off on the phone and the only apps that show up are travel link. The app on the phone says if the ford pass icon is not there to unplug the phone from the usb and plug it back in and the app should appair. No dice! Does anyone have any advice? Thank you Lenny

I got it to work. After I turned it on, I tried texting myself and it still did not work. Then out of the blue while driving, I recieved a text. It doesn't work every time though, but it's a start. When it does work, Its pretty nice.

Okay, I know this has been talked about and I've read people have goten it to partially work. I can not get mine to work. From what I've read, it's says to: On the iPhone go to settings, then to Bluetooth, then click on SYNC, then set " show notifications" to on. That's where I have problems, that setting is not there on my phone. Any idea what I'm missing? Thank You Lenny

I know this is an old topic but wanted to add to it. First I can not understand all the install problems people had with the dealers installing this literally it is 5 wires. That's it. Anyway my repair kit stopped working and is out of warranty so I reconnected the mirror mike. The access to do this is under the drivers side A-Pillar. Just disconnected 3 wires that dealer spliced in and reconnected the 3 the delear cut and taped off. Left the other two alone. That's it done.

Thanks every one! I did the master reset, after it was completed I re-paired my IPhone and downloaded call history and contacts lists. Everything went perfectly. I guess I just have to re-teach Sync to understand my voice. I also would like to verify that I'm still at software version 1.3, Is there an easy way to determine this. My 08 Edge with Navigation and Sync 1.3 just started yelling at me every time I start my car "Indexing Full, Some songs may not be available" I am using a portable hard drive with about 800 mp3's on it. I've been using this from day one (about 1 and 1/2 years) nothing has changed, I haven't added deleted or even taken it out of the car, it just start doing it out of the blue. So far I tried the following to correct this: 1-Disconnected / reconnected the hard drive 2-Deleted about 35 mp3's from the hard drive Any Ideas? This is really annoying Thanks in advance Lenny

Yes, You only have the option of the handfull of replys included with sync. Not a lot to choose from. I liked it for incoming, It would read text messages, yahoo calander reminders and appointments. Very handy and cool.

Yes, Prior to My Iphone 3gs I had a Motorola Razr2 V9x. It worked great with my Ford Nav and Sync. I wish it worked with my Iphone.

I too dont think text will ever work with the I phone. I have one and could not beleive it will not play flash! Ind from what I read it never will play flash.

Thats how mine works also. Im guessing its normal. (2008 Ford Edge)

I agree! I will skip the fix for now at least till they can match the color to the head liner.

My 08 had sync, no nav. The dealer had the oem nav installed. The cost, was exactly the same as it would have been from the factory. As far as getting a parts list and itemized estimate, I doubt it. The dealers use outside vendors, and they are very secretive about what they do. Also I believe there is program involved for it to work properly with Sync.

Does any one have this phone (LG Xenon) on the AT&T network? If so what features work or do not work? Im looking to replace my Moto Razr 2, V-9. This phone works great with Sync, pretty much all features work including text, phonebook download and custom ringtones. Im looking for at least text and phonebook downloads to work. I wanted a Blackberry, but no Text. Its hard enough to find a phone I like, now I have to find one I like and works with the features of Sync I want to use. Thanks

If you remember where this is, please post it, I just came from "My Ford" and looked through all the manuals posted on the site for my 08 Edge with Sync and Nav. I cannot find anything that talks about the mics input Thanks again!
