  1. The Ford Pass app was updated by Ford Saturday and the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality has been removed from the app. Perhaps the Ford Pass app is the issue? The only thing for sure is that Ford woefully remains behind the technology curve with Synch 4. They are always not where they need to be based on the high cost of the system.
  2. 2021 F150 with the latest January version of Sync 4 Issue: today I noticed by vehicle hotspot was not working and in the sync 4 it is greyed out and not accessible. Also in the Ford Pass app you used to be able to call up the hotspot configuration and that no longer works My ATT vehicle data plan is active and they have sent a refresh signal The other vehicle connectivity features work such as remote access, navigation, navigation weather and radar and Sirius XM 360L services that use the modem. So the modem is working it is just the hotspot that no longer works I have tried all type of resets with no success ATT says I need a new AIPM from Ford but to me it seems to be software related Has anyone else experienced this issue and what is the resolution in the meantime I will repurchase and reactivate a Verizon hotspot for work until Fiord can resolve this issue
  3. The build still has not fixed the issues of being able to use Music in the Cloud or Live Streaming through USB Music connection WITHOUT CarPlay activated. The content will stream around 2.5 minutes and the lock up thee sync unit This worked fine on all other Sync systems pre 2017 Apple Music in Cloud Amazon Music Spotify Tidal Vox Calm Radio Others. The benefit is for those that prefer the stock navagation and not the poor quality unreadable mirrored Apple Maps. Also I like my Sirius weather and radar
  4. Applink just does not work period Ford just does not have the skill sets or investment into Sync 3 to make it work Its a disaster
  5. My 2017 F350 has had an AIPM issue since day 1 before noticed right after purchase . My USB music through any source or any Apple Device does not work Ford fought me on replacing it and it still does not work On 3 previous Sync systems it worked flawlessly Ford is way behind the curve on stable technology and Sync 3 is no wear near as stable and previous Sync 2
  6. Yes i have tried with several OEM Apple cables and other cables that worked just fine in previous trucks with Sync 2 They have never worked with Sync 3
  7. In my previous Ford Vehicles, I had no problem at all with previous Sync 2 gettting an IPAD Mini (latest generation) or IPOD Touch to connect, stay connected and work reliably as a USB Music Source. In my 2017 Super Duty with Sync 3, upgraded to Sync 3 Version 2.3, I still can not get either an IPAD Mini or an IPOD Touch to stay connected. They both will stream for several minutes and then the system reverts to FM and all other sync connectivity is then locked up until I either do a Master Reset or stop/start the vehicle. I have had 3 cases open with Ford Sync SUpport and no one can come up with a solution and the 2.2 nor 2.3 Sync 3 upgrade did not fix it. How do I fix this? Do I potentially have a faulty AIPM? Thanks
  8. My Ford Owner site shows an update available however the over the air update shows nothing available Fords technology continues to be virtually worthless, a huge fail and disappointment
  9. Ever since my 2017 Super Duty 12/19/2017 was delivered in February, the USB Music option has not worked Not on an IPhone 6, IPhone 6 Plus. IPad Air, Ipad Mini 4 and not an IPod Touch all with latest Apple Software The hope was Sync 3 Version 2.2 would fix the issue Yesterday my servicing dealer installed Version 2.2 via IDS install The 2.2 version did not fix the issue and now when the system hangs with An attempt to use USB music, the entire system has other issues with Sync voice commands not working and phone calls can not be made nor received The dealer is at a loss to get this fixed I have now asked them to ask Ford to replace the AIPM module Am I on the right track? All of these devices worked perfectly with no issues on the previous 2015 Super Duty Sync 2 system without fault http://i.imgur.com/g8HTLjs.jpg
  10. Could you try USB Music Source from an Iphone, IPOD, or IPad and report back?
  11. Thank you for the post. It agrees with my research that USB Music is a major issue with Sync 3 and people have been reporting it since July 2016 at least. Yet when I have called on my case several reps have denied this is a know issue. The following 2 individuals at Ford are responsible for the Sync development and the issue needs to be escalated to these individuals: http://mashable.com/2016/01/11/ford-ces-2016-brandspeak/ Jim Buczkowski DIRECTOR OF FORD ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS RESEARCH Ken Williams SUPERVISOR, HMI PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Myself, I primarily use streaming services such as Apple Cloud Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Tune In Radio, Spotify and Vox. Of course most of those services does use a cache on an Apple Device for recently played content. They all worked flawlessly on Sync 2 in my previous Ford Super Duty Trucks and never had an issue. On my 2017 Super Duty built in December and delivered in February with Sync 3, USB music is unusable and if it ever does connect it drops within a few minutes. I am disappointed that Ford does not take the quality of the Sync 3 System seriously. USB connectivity is not rocket science and Ford has had many years to work on Sync 3 and deliver a quality product yet Ford still unfortunately has delivered a Sync 3 system that is a big step backwards from Sync 2. Why did Ford refund you for your Sync Systen? How did you go about getting it done?
  12. The answer is no. i have had an open case for 45 days with no resoluton Escalating to the Senior Ford Sync Management team
  13. I have one delivery issue with my truck that Ford has yet to solve. USB Music with Album Art and Full Playlist / Track Controls Will not Reliably Work over USB. Sync3 rarely recognizes the USB Music Source and if it does, it will usually stream only a few minutes before no longer recognizing the Apple Device. This has been tested with several Iphones, Ipads and different cables, all which worked without issue on the previous 2015 SYNC2 system. The benefits are : Better Sound Quality Full Album Art Playlists Could someone do me a favor and test the following: 1. Use an Iphone 6, 6+ or 7+ or recent Ipad 2. The Apple IOS software is on latest release 10.2.1 3. Try with a stock Apple USB to Lightning Cable 4. Use your Sync3 System on your Ford 2017 Super Duty 5. Be a subscriber to the Apple Monthly Music Lease Plan, Tidal, Spotify, etc Conduct the test: 1. Have your music source up and running and streaming on your Apple Device 2. Plug the Apple Device in to the Sync Music Hub 3. Do not have Apply Car Play Activated on Sync3 4. Select USB as Music Source Expected Results: Music should momentarily begin streaming in the Sync3 System Full Album Art should be viewable You should have ability to Rewind, Fast Forward through tracks The progress bar on the current selection should be visible and be running Results that are Not Expected: Apple Device will simply not connect Music may stream for a few minutes and then then Sync loses contact with the Apple Device. Note: Myself, I prefer to not to use Apple Car Play, as I prefer the factory navigation, travel link weather and native controls on the Sync3 System. Also Carplay gives problems when in bad cell signal areas. With that said, on my truck, Apple Car Play USB Music will stay connected, but when I have Car Play deleted or disabled, USB Music from any other source will not reliably stream more than a few minutes. I appreciate your testing this. My servicing dealer has replicated the issue on other new Super Duties in their showroom testing on different phones, cables, etc. Ford will not be forthright and say they recognize this is an issue or when a fix will be available. I would like to know if anyone has kept this type of functionality in Sync3 that was solid in the older 2015 Sync2. Note this is not Bluetooth related and of course Blue Tooth does not have album art or full music control features.
