  1. OK, got the car in mid-June and so far only one problem that was TRACED TO MY WIFES CELL PHONE (truning the Bluetooth off and on while we were in motion). So far so good. I can tell you that if you expect to jump into the car and have the systems (SYNC, MyTouch and NAV) work without any learning curve you'll be disappointed. Our phones are nearing the antiquity stage of life so things will get better when we do upgrade. Some options aren't available now but if we choose the correct phones then we'll be in good shape. I must say we've had good luck with the systems and the only problem was that one with the phone and my inability to operate the systems which is part of the learning curve. I'm guessing that I'll have it all figured out about the time the warranty runs out. The car itself is a joy to drive. Good job Ford.
  2. Yesterday my 2011 Edge (2 weeks old and 1,200 miles) screen showed "Audio Off" and I had zero with voice commands, Sirius, "Phone Button", just nothing. I "chatted" with the SYNC folks and was told to pull the SYNC fuse. Had to search the manual to find it was #29 tucked under an access panel in the left kick panel on drivers side. I had to pull that panel off plus another cover to expose fuse #29. Pulled that and left it out for 5+ minutes and reinserted it (without dropping it ) and the car "re-booted" and now all seem to be back to normal and functioning well. The system works great when it works and when I do things right. I'm finding a great number of the problems are ME not the system, at least until this reset thing. If this is going to be a continuing problem I might have to wire an easier way to do this re-set. Hard on old knees and tough to stick my head into the access panel. Maybe Ford should come up with an aftermarket switch to do this more easily. I'll be "discussing" this with the dealer on Tuesday.
  3. Just a short additional comment. My Edge is scheduled to show up this month, probably in the second half. I'm excited to get it and anticipate a good car. I did some checking with several dealers...not associated with my purchase. I went into the service departments of three dealers in two different states and basically got the same answer to my question about the reliability and problems with MFT and SYNC. All, and I mean all, said they have had very few problems. The common thread with all of the dealers was that people try to make their antiquated cell phones work with the system. Now we all know that by the time you get a "new" cell phone it's out of of date by the time we get out of the store. I told one service rep. that I had been reading about some problems with the systems and his comment was "the internet is real good for posting complaints and bitches". All in all I'm still ready to get the new car and plan to take the time to learn the systems. I'm not the best when it comes to "technology" so my wife will be the one to teach me after she figures it out. Life is always a point on the learning curve.
  4. Don't know where to find info on build status but I've read about this on other sites and was under the impression it was on the SYNC site. Guess I was waiting till I got the VIN and then tackle that problem. Maybe I have my horse in front of my Edge???
  5. Ordered a 2011 Edge SEL AWD about three weeks ago and have not heard from dealer about my VIN. Am I just being too anxious? I understand that once I get a VIN I can log on to the SYNC site and see how things are going on the build. Thanks.
  6. I too am waiting for my 2011 Edge. Can you describe the SIRIUS "Travel Option"? Do you get notice of this? I'd be interested in this option since I wouldn't use the subscription except in the car. Also, thanks for info on the NAV unit...I'm still puzzled about the "Sync Services" you mentioned.
  7. A month old car and they were going to charge you $180.... I think I might have made quite a scene when that was mentioned...you know what would have hit the fan... :fan: I have a 2011 Edge SEL on order, hope my dealer is more honest.
  8. I just hope that my "not-so-agile-brain" can handle all of this high tech stuff. I guess I can let the wife fight with it while I enjoy driving... Lee
  9. Sam- Great reply and than you for your information. I am pleased that your last comment said you'd do it over again. Makes me feel so much better with our decision. The car is heads above some of the other vehicles in it's class. We loved the test drive and can't wait till we get our own Edge. I have been told there may be some problem getting the AWD SEL Model...hope we can have ours in the anticipated 8-10 week time frame.
  10. I just ordered a 2011 Edge SEL AWD and have been reading the posts here and other places. The folks here seem to be the ones with SYNC and MFT problems which are very real. My question is "is anyone satisfied with the SYNC and MFT"??? Hope to hear some positive comments... Tkx
