  1. Thanks Multitask, I've briefly studied these replacement units, but have never been to the web site you suggested. I'll check into it. Thanks again, Amy
  2. Hi Multitask, Yes I have the 8" screen in a Ford Edge Limited. Just purchased the new iPod Touch. It's the only one you can get now brand new and the only one that will connect to the new Apple Music Service. This is the latest version released Jun 2019. But the main thing is it Works on the old 2011 MyFord Touch!! The main thing different is: The new Ipod has a security 4 number code to open it up. Just like the security number to open a cell phone. The old MyFord Touch doesn't know what that is because the old ipods were just music players. You just plugged them in the USB and play away. So you must go into the new Ipod Touch and click Settings>General>and click on CodeKey window. It gives you the option to disable the login codekey. Once you disable it, everytime you play the ipod in your car, you don't have to manually get out the Ipod and key in the code. It automatically turns on by itself. I've downloaded new albums from the new Apple Music Service (which is a different file name from the old iTune's file names) but the old MyFord Touch still recognizes and plays them! Yeah! Just wish Ford would update/upgrade the MyFord Touch to sync 3. Not fair that they did it on cheaper models the same year, but not with MyFord Touch. Sad. Regards, Amy
  3. Hi, I have a 2011 Edge Limited with MyFord Touch. I currently use an old Apple Ipod Classic via the USB port in the center console. Everything has always worked great. But now I would like to upgrade to the latest Ipod Touch which just came out. Current Apple operating system is iOS 12. Since Ford refuses to Upgrade MyFord Touch (pathetic), Does anyone know if the MyFord Touch will work with a newer Apple operating system and newer Apple devices? Thanks for your time on this, Amy
  4. Did update with new USB memory stick and card. Had trouble at first. The Update kept hanging up when installing the first file. Error on screen said not enough memory and wrong update software for this car. Called the 800 number in Detroit. Not sure if they did anything computer wise on their end. They asked for all my personal information even the mileage on the car. They stayed with me when I went back out to the car and tried again. We had to do a Master Reboot which took 5 or 10 min. After that, the update went smoothly. First Impressions: It boots up really fast now. Nice. My Droidx phone is connected in a few seconds. Almost instantly. Some Fonts on the screen are larger. Noticed in Navigation that the turn directions are now across the top of the map with a lot larger font. The map is narrower because of this though. In 3D view it's not so bad. I probably wouldn't have even noticed this, but I was on a 4 hour trip yesterday using the old nav before updating today. Definitely different. My first passenger instantly asked, what happened to the temperature readout on the center screen. So far everythiing else is okay. Can't wait for the year when you'll be able to download an entire route (not just the destination) from something like Microsoft Streets & Trips, instead of manually entering waypoints at the start of every trip. Amy
  5. I have a Droid2. The phone 95% of the time connects. The rare occasion it doesn't... I either reboot the phone and or shutoff the car to reboot the Sync. One time in 3 months so far I have had to actually pull the fuse to reboot the Sync system. My Droid downloads phone conversations, address book, voicemail. It won't download contact photos or text. Although I haven't pursued text too much, it may be because I believe some aspects of texting won't work if the car is moving. Amy
  6. UPDATE: Fuse 29 worked. I have my phone back! I did this by the way with the car running. Unplugged it and waited about a minute and a half. The only thing that went out was the big center touch screen. The LCD screens by the Speedometer said " Have lost communication with Touch Screen". After 1.5 min. I reinserted the fuse, a new screen showed up on the center glass. It said Ford/Microsoft Sync Updating and Maintenance check, with a bar graph showing time left before finished. When it was done it automatically rebooted itself just like when you get in and start the car normally. Sure enough, Sync now recognizes my phone again. I didn't even have to re-pair the phone, and all my presets for Sirius etc. were still there. Back in business. I was on a business trip and I really needed my phone while on the interstate. So I stopped and did the above in a Target parking lot. Warning: Changing the fuse is not easy. You have to twist side ways to see the #29 fuse. Becareful. These fuses are tiny. Less than the size of a plain M&M only square and thin. You use tweezers to get it out. On my Edge the fuse box is behind a plastic shroud near the parking brake. You can easily drop the fuse and it would disappear forever behind the plastic. Be careful and you should be okay. Other than the embarrassment..... People asking me if I needed help in the parking lot while doing this. At least I got my phone. I'll pay for the dry cleaning on my dress suit, but Ford owes me for a new pair of nylons. Epilogue: If Sync suddenly can't connect to your phone. Try fuse 29. It worked for me. Amy
  7. I reread my thread above: When I said, "Where is Fuse 29". I know where the fuse box is. I meant is it in the console or somwhere different? I haven't layed on the floor or ground yet to look for it in the fuse box. Also is it best to pull the fuse when the car is shutoff or when everything is loaded and running? Thanx again, Amy
  8. Hi, I have the same problem with the "Connect a Phone" issue. It's a 2011 Edge Ltd. purchased Nov. 2010. Phone is a Droid2 4 months old. I get the Bcm425d1 26 mhz class 1.5 also. I had the # 10B20 Service done at the Dealer a week and a half ago with no problems other than they had to redown load the update twice to get it to work. 3 days ago this phone thing has started. I've owned my Edge for 3 months without any problems with the phone. It connected everytime. I tested my phone on other devices the past day and the Phone/Bluetooth is fine. Has to be the Sync. I'm calling Sync Tech today so they can add me to their list. Thanx for the tip. What happens when I disconnect fuse 29. Will I lose all my presets? Should the car be on or off? Thanks in advance, Amy
  9. Hi, I have a Black 2011 Edge Limited. My Sync and my Droid2 phone have the same symptoms as explained above, right down to the BCM4325D1 26MHz class error. I have had my Edge since Nov 12 2010. The Droid has worked perfect everyday in and out of the car for 3 months. I received the infamous upgrade for MyFordTouch at the Dealership last week. Everything was fine until yesterday when this phone failure has started. I've tried the re-pair thing but nothing works. Where is this Fuse 29? This doesn't seem very cool unplugging power fuses in a brand new car, but I have no phone. Also should the car be turned off when you do this? Thank-you for your time in advance. Amy
