I had this probem when pairing my Nex1 , discovered that you can edit the number that the SYNC system issues (you will see edit buttom on the SYNC touchscreen ). Android phones like 4 digits. I just created my own 4 digit code and my phone then had no trouble connecting.

If anyone has successfully uploaded their phonebook photos and/or contact images please post here. I would like to know what phones are capable of this. Thanks.

I just purchased a 2011 Lincoln MKX. Love the ride..but SYNC (the new My Lincolntouch) is becoming very troublesome regarding uploading the Phonebook/Contact photos that are shown in all the Ford marketing materials (print media, TV etc.) and user manuals.

I contacted SYNC support and had a online chat. The conversation is below. I am not pleased.

you: Keith, I would like to know how to get Sync to display my phonebook contact pictures. I have a 2011 Lic MKX?

Keith: That is a phone dependent feature.

you: i have sucessfully downloaded the phonebook

you: what has to be dependant

you: bluetooth?

Keith: Yes the phone must be capable of sending the photos to SYNC.

you: i can send contact photos via bluetooth all day

you: to my friends to my pc netbook etc.etc

you: i even send a contact to sync successfully

you: but did not see pic

Keith: Yes the phone's Bluetooth must be able to relay the pictures to SYNC.

you: how do i do that?

Keith: It would be automatic when the phone is paired.

you: so is there a list or spec that i can research to confirm that my phone has the capablity?

Keith: We have no test data at this time for phones with the new My Touch system ,we apologize for the inconvenience.

you: I have a Nexus One, also tried with coworkers Samsung Epic , neighbors iPhone 4 and a old Cliq

I have same issue and it sucks. Just purchased 2011 MKX. Don't want to spread bad PR but they need to provide a solution quick.
