  1. Here's another link, with a little more info. http://www.businessweek.com/news/2014-02-22/ford-said-to-swap-blackberry-s-qnx-for-microsoft-in-sync-system
  2. I think Ford needs 2 maybe 3 more years before they can compete with this. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Garmin-nuvi-40LM-4.3-Portable-GPS-with-Free-Lifetime-Maps/17327927?page=seeAllReviews Those life time maps are a deal MAKER for me.
  3. Not sure if I can say this here  . I added a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth to my 05 F250. Worked better than Sync in our 08 MKX. Sync in our C-Max is much better than the 08 version in the Lincoln around town... BUT still not usable at Interstate speed .
  4. You know what a thousand lawyers on the bot... There's a new TSB. Nav GPS TSB 13-3-11 Take this TSB # to your dealer.
  5. I'm pretty new at this MFT but some portable GPS systems call them "bread crumbs" you should be able to turn them off.
  6. Probably the most frustrating thing about using SYNC is “she” keeps saying “I didnnnet understand you.” Come on software programmers after you write a program you could at least send a couple of minutes TRYing to use it Just upgraded our phones from Motorola RAZR’s to a Samsung A777 and a Motorola Backflip. After successfully removing the RAZR’s, only took 10 minutes SYNC kept trying to connect! The A777 went in pretty (yea right) quick. I paired the Backflip to a Parrott CK3100 in my F250 in less than 2 minutes! After UN-successfully pairing the Backflip I logged into “Syncmyride” looking for a software update. NO I’m NOT taking the MKX to the dealer for an upgrade!!! See here for the successful pairing of the Backflip. http://fordsyncforum.com/index.php?/topic/816-pairing-droid-with-sync/page__gopid__4351& ab
  7. I just paired with my Motorola Backflip (Droid), I couldn’t type the 6 digits fast enough so I used the 4 digit 0000 PIN. BUT I had to get SYNC to display the 0000 PIN before it would pair. I used the up/down arrows (I think, might have been the tune knob) to get SYNC to change the 6 digit PIN to 0000. ab
  8. Just upgraded phones from Motorola RAZR's to a Samsung a777. After successfully removing the RAZR, only took 10 minutes SYNC kept trying to connect to the long gone razr! The a777 went in pretty quick. Including the phonebook. ab
  9. I thought this was a problem with my ill  Ipod. The display doesn't work and I was showing it to my son (he thinks he can fix anything (usually does)). When he gave up and plugged it back in it started right where it had stopped and shuffled. Then the next time I start the MKX the Ipod continued to shuffle. ab
  10. Sorry about the confusion I was trying to keep my post as short as possible. "1st question: where is the register tab, button, etc?" When I went here http://syncmyride.com/#/home/ to register for " Sync My Ride" I couldn't find a place to register. "2nd question: after stumbling around for a while I found it" I finally was able to register by going to the "OWNER RESOURSES" tab here http://syncmyride.com/Own/Modules/SupportC...upportHome.aspx then down in the very bottom right corner I clicked on "site map" which took me here http://syncmyride.com/Own/Modules/PageTool...eMap.aspx?lid=1. Which has a REGISTRATION button. "then discovered that by registering my email address at other Ford/sync (here ?) sites I could use that login." "That didn't work either?" When I tried to use my normal MKX email "oilfield038-mkx@yahoo.com" I received a message that this email was already registered (it is, I use at here and another Ford site) and I could use it with my regular password to access "Sync My Ride" but it wouldn't take my password, so I registered with this email oilfield038-mkx2@yahoo.com. Hope this is a little easier to understand Thanks for your help :yup:
  11. Sorry for the gripe BUT has anyone ever registered at http://syncmyride.com 1st question: where is the register tab, button, etc? 2nd question: after stumbling around for a while I found it then discovered that by regestering my email address at other Ford/sync (here ?) sites I could use that login. That didn't work either? Again sorry, maybe it'll get better ab
