  1. Last week I upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The old iPhone worked beautifully with Sync in my 2008 Ford Focus, but I've been having some issues with my new Z3 when connecting via USB (bluetooth works fine, I just really want to be able to see song name/artist on the HUD instead of "Bluetooth Audio"). Sometimes the phone won't be recognized at all by Sync so I have to uplug and replug the USB cable in. Then when it does connect, it always takes a fairly long time to index. I would assume only the first index should take a long time and then subsequent connections should only update whatever has been changed, since that was how it worked with my iPhone. Then, once it's finally done indexing, if I click on 'Playlists', Sync tells me that there are no playlists on my phone even though I have several that play perfectly fine on my Z3's music players (Walkman, Google Play Music, doubleTwist Music Player). All of my music is stored in the 'Music' folder on my Z3 and the playlists are .m3u files. I am using the doubleTwist app to sync my playlists created in iTunes to my phone. Sync finds all of the music on my phone but it can never index the m3u playlists that are in the same folder. Also, sometimes it will find the playlists that the Walkman app creates by default, called 'Walkman Favourites', 'Walkman Recently Played', etc but I have o clue where those are stored on my phone and how Sync seesthose playlists but not the ones in my Music directory. I'm pretty sure the playlists are extended m3u's, but I've tried simple m3u's as well and those don't seem to work either. I'm stumped on this one.
  2. I have scoured the internet and have found multiple leads, but still cannot get a M3U playlist exported from iTunes to be readable with my 2010 Ford Escape Sync system. I don't know if it can only be done from Windows and not from a Mac. I downloaded a Mac App called Playlist Exporter hoping that would be the solution and I am still getting the "Bad Playlist" error when I insert my SanDisk 16gb usb drive with my copied itunes library music files and created m3u playlist on the usb. I have tried to do the replace all to take the mappings to my hard drive on my computer, but I don't know exactly how it should look [if I need ../ or my usb name first]. Has anyone been able to successfully play playlists with Ford Sync from either writing up their own m3u file or configuring an exported one? Thanks for any help on this!
