  1. I used a thumbdrive to play music through my sync in my fusion and it worked the very first time and it hasnt worked since?! Can anyone explain why this is? When I try to sync the USB it says USB EMPTY. The drive is formatted to FAT32 and all the songs are MP3 and like I said it worked the very first time I tried it but no luck since. Any suggestions? Thanks
  2. Jumping right in. We've known for sometime Bluetooth MAP support was lacking in iOS devices. Looks like iOS 6, per the update info, has "Bluetooth MAP support." Looks like we might be able to text via SYNC soon!-) I'll let you know once i give it all a try. Let me know if you guys have any luck. I'll be trying it on my 09 FEH Happy texting!-)
  3. I see a lot of people complaining about SYNC, but I can't get a handle on how severe my problems with it are, compared to everyone else. The difficulties I have experienced from the start run the gamut: random switching between USB/BTST/Line In, navigation oddities, complete voice command failures, satellite radio malfunctions, sudden inability to recognize previously operating iPod, "unplayable media file" errors, random switching between satellite and FM, and probably more that I can't think of at the moment. Is this typical? I have taken it in to the dealership once, and while they repaired the sudden "voice commands not supported" error that had cropped up, nothing else got any better. Did I get a lemon, or are they all this dysfunctional?
  4. Ok after taking the ATT salesman's word for it I got the new Sony Xperia TL, beautiful phone, bluetooth works for everything except text (says not supported). I am taking the phone back and if they try and charge me a restocking fee, I will pay it and cancel my service. But hopefully that will not happen, so I need to know who has had good luck with any of the newest phones. I'm very interested in the new LG optimus G but that phone had not been tested on Ford's website. Any suggestions would be wonderful as to which phone I should go with. Thanks in advance.
  5. I just purchased a 2012 F-150 FX2, and noticed that when playing music on the satellite radio, the RDS information is shown. However, when playing regular FM stations or from my bluetooth attached iPhone4, there is no RDS information. Is this normal? I know this information is there because it shows up in older vehicles I own! The unit in the truck is the "Sync with Voice-Activated Navigation". I called Ford and was told that this version of Sync does not support RDS, that the "Sync with MyFord Touch" supported it. So now I am curious as to why a brand new vehicle does not have this basic feature; what else is missing in this Sync solution vs the other Synch solutions; and is there a fix to this problem? It's driving me nutttttts! Thanks Bill
  6. Just purchased the galaxy s3 and my friends tell me I sound like Im in a wind storm when calling from 2012 MKZ. Prior phone galaxy S2 no problem. Thanks
  7. I have scoured the internet and have found multiple leads, but still cannot get a M3U playlist exported from iTunes to be readable with my 2010 Ford Escape Sync system. I don't know if it can only be done from Windows and not from a Mac. I downloaded a Mac App called Playlist Exporter hoping that would be the solution and I am still getting the "Bad Playlist" error when I insert my SanDisk 16gb usb drive with my copied itunes library music files and created m3u playlist on the usb. I have tried to do the replace all to take the mappings to my hard drive on my computer, but I don't know exactly how it should look [if I need ../ or my usb name first]. Has anyone been able to successfully play playlists with Ford Sync from either writing up their own m3u file or configuring an exported one? Thanks for any help on this!
  8. Hi Ford Edge owners (in Europe) Is there anyone who was able to upgrade to the lastest Sync version on a Ford Edge in Switzerland, or Germany? As we're "abroad", we didn't receive the package automatically :-( Please share your ideas here. cheers
  9. Hi all, I have recently bought a 2010 fusion sport. I am looking to upgrade the head unit with this http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/483417238-For-Ford-Fusion-Explorer-Expedition-Edge-F-150-Car-Radio-GPS-Navigation-System-wholesalers.html I really like the fact that it loads up with ford image. My question is has anyone already Done this with this with this particular unit and are there any pitfalls you can share with me. Does it work with a 2010 dash? I believe I will lose the voice activated sync feature but I will gain a gps, DVD, rear camera, tv etc so I think it's a fair trade. Any help or advise with alternative systems would be appreciated.
  10. My MFT update flash drive came in the mail but it won't work. It gives me error messages telling me that the installation cannot continue. I called Tech Support and they had me do a Master Reset among other things and then had me try again but it still didn't work. They told me I would have to get it done at the dealer. But my dealer has only one person who knows anything about SYNC so every time I bring it in it takes three days for them to do anything. They connected me to Customer Care because I told them I shouldn't have to pay over a hundred dollars for a rental for the same problem I've had since I bought my Edge seven months ago. The Customer Care woman told me they wouldn't give me a free loaner car. I explained to her that in the first month alone I had my Edge it was in the shop three different times to fix MFT and each time was at least three days of paying for a rental at $35/day plus taxes and that I shouldn't have to pay for that again. She took my info and said she'd call back. She called back about 10 minutes later (making it a point that she called back within the 10-15 minute promise that she made to me). She told me that since the MFT update is supposed to only take an hour, they won't give me a loaner car. I reiterated that the dealer only has one person to work on SYNC systems and that every time I've brought it into the shop in the past always took three days so I have no reason to believe that it would only take an hour, especially since it can't be done by flash drive. She then suggested that maybe I received a bad flash drive but I told her that I got this same error message when I tried the downloadable version from syncmyride. She then blamed my hardware and I pointed out that if it is my actual USB slots (which I know is not the case because I play music on two different USB sticks), it will certainly take more than one hour to fix/replace the hardware and then apply the upgrade but she disagreed and remained firm. I am completely disgusted by this company. It is well-known that the system has been flawed since day one. I have already spent more money and more time than I should have to try to get it fixed and they won't let me use a car for free?!? Even if it does only take an hour like she swears it will, why not put your money where your mouth is?!? But no. All she did was tell me how sorry she was. But I have heard enough of that for the past seven months and I am tired of it. I just want this thing fixed. This is my first non GM car ever and my first non Chevy in 12 years and I am regretting this move. Chevy's customer care was excellent to me. They gave me a loaner the one time in 12 years that I had to have warranty service done and they even gave me loaners when I got there late in the day for oil change and inspection stickers and they knew they wouldn't have me done before closing. Not to mention the fact that my Trailblazers cost less but had more features than my Edge.
  11. I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport with SYNC ... I am suprised to note that the usb port and line-in audio jack are not there! Which models have or don't have SYNC w/usb? Can I remedy the situation?
