  1. I updated the SYNC in my 2014 MKZ Hybrid in October. Prior to the update, my cell phone, a LG840G, worked perfectly. Since the update, one frequent caller to me, who has a "Private Number" displayed on the caller ID, cannot get to me while I'm bluetoothed to my cell. I answer or accept the call and immediately the SYNC display shows "Call Ended". Looking at my cellphone, the call shows as still connected however, one can't speak or be heard since the bluetooth has taken over the call connecting it to SYNC. If I disable the bluetooth, my phone works fine, and never has an issue with this particular caller. Only when the bluetooth is enabled does the call end occur. I called technical support today and they were of no assistance as a "Master reboot" was requested which would delete my radio & navigation settings which is totally unacceptable. Question is WHY and then, when the update was rolled out, where was the notice that some phones could suddenly become 'incompatible' when prior to the update they operated fine. This is very disturbing and I'm seeking a remedy. RIght now, bluetooth is disabled so I can converse with this important client of mine. While that cures the issue, it requires me to hold the phone which is illegal and eliminates the auto 911 call should the airbags deploy. I hope this is seen & a resolution provided. Otherwise, I LOVE the car.
  2. I recently got my ford Escape and have been listening to podcasts and the only way it could get better is if I make the skip button on my steering wheel fast forward or rewind rather than skip tracks. Is this possible? I have a 2011 Ford Escape with Sync Gen 1 and I just updated to this version DR3T-14D544-AF SYNC v4.4
  3. I recently plugged a hard disk with AAC encoded music into the USB port. Music is organized into folders by Artist/Album. I can use Play Artist and Play Album commands, but the Play Track command is not available. All files are named with the convention "## Track Name" where ## is the two digit track number. Can anybody offer any suggestions? Thanks 2012 Ford Flex.
  4. While I had limited interactions with Microsoft's OS on the My Ford Touch models, I can't help but express my discontent with the overall visual appeal of the interface. This might sound like a minor complaint, but I was looking at a video of the S550 Mustang GT with the new SYNC 3 platform when my uncle passes by, and literally word for word said "Is that the new Prius?". Needless to say, someone who is looking at a top of the line brand new 2016 model GT, does NOT want anything about their car to resemble anything that a Prius would be sporting. The interface looks like something Jitterbug would make if they produced IVI's, large button menu tray at the bottom? Why not improve upon the original design template. The quadrants were more appealing and I had zero trouble accessing the different menus. The theme itself looks like it came straight out of a third-party media player. The blue isn't even a deep ford blue color. As far as I could tell there was no customization, no more wallpapers, night-time schemes, display color customization inline with ambient lighting? Honestly, the technology itself is impressive, just the way it is being delivered is a little less than satisfying. I will still opt for the SYNC 3 over the precious OS when i head to dealerships this fall to purchase my new Mustang, but one of the honest selling points behind the GT Premium was the lavish looking touch screen system. I hope in the future Ford and QNX will announce better customization options for those who like their car to be just as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. I know the odds are against me that anyone in the Ford/QNX company will see this forum post, but if you do PLEASE CONSIDER MY WORDS!!! It's such a great system, but when i look at it, it doesn't make me want it. Make. Me. Want. It.
  5. This morning, my radio was stuck on and would not change stations, let me adjust the volume or turn off (even after the car was powered off). How do I force a reboot short of pulling the batter cable? I've seen reference to a delayedreboot.cab, but that appears to have been pulled back in 2013. The physical power, volume, source and tunning buttons did not work. The touch screen interface for the radio did not work (though I could access the phone and other screens). The steering wheel controls wouldn't change volume or tunning, either from the four arrows or the handsfree. Help!
  6. Hi All, Hoping someone can help me with this issue. I have a 2013 Ford Escape and A Droid RAZR Maxx. It has worked flawlessly since I got the phone in December 2012, until recently. Whenever I recieve a text via Sync it sends me 1-3 additional texts that are old, from various people. I'm talking the additional texts are months old. THey don't show up on the phone so I am lead to believe the issue resides somewhere in the Sync software. I've done the basic troubleshooting. Unpaired and re paired. Ensured all software is up to date, both the car and phone. My next step is a master reset but I don't want to do that if there is an easier fix. Its driving me bonkers to have a great feature that I cant use Any recommendations or fixes you all know about?
  7. I recently purchased a 2013 C-Max that had been on the dealer lot for some time. When I log into my ford owner account and click on the "update SYNC software" button it tells me that my software is up to date. However, when I check the version in the vehicle, it shows 4.29.12285_PRODUCT, which I believe is an older version. Why does my account show that the software is up to date, and how do I go about updating the software when my account thinks I already have the latest version? Any help greatly appreciated!
  8. Hi fellow sync users, new to this site, as well as my recently bought Fusion. it is an 09 Ford Fusion SEL, It has Sync compatibility, also has the AUX and USB ports in center console. whenever i press the phone button to add a new phone it says NO PHONE. I cannot even get into the phone menu or system settings. I have pulled and replaced the SYNC fuse, as well as pulling the battery lines to reset the whole system in the car, still no luck. whenever i put an AUX cable or USB in, the radio does not detect any of those features. It only works on radio & CD function. Help please, I would like to access all of the features my "new" car has to offer. Thank you.
  9. Will the promised AppLink upgrade/update for 2010 and newer vehicles with Sync ever receive it? http://www.cnet.com/news/ford-adding-app-integration-to-3-4-million-cars/
  10. hey guys im new to this forum and am in a very frustrating situation. i bought a 2012 blue fusion sport awd fully loaded with the navigation screen and the whole nine yards. i registered on the website and its telling me the last update was in 2012, and that my car is up to date. however it shows me a very old version, and apparently, the new version is 4.2.1 but i cannot download it online to install in my car. when i call ford they tell me the only way is by going to the dealership to do it. is that really the only way? i was hoping as a first experience id be able to do it all myself instead of pay for it.
  11. Last week I upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The old iPhone worked beautifully with Sync in my 2008 Ford Focus, but I've been having some issues with my new Z3 when connecting via USB (bluetooth works fine, I just really want to be able to see song name/artist on the HUD instead of "Bluetooth Audio"). Sometimes the phone won't be recognized at all by Sync so I have to uplug and replug the USB cable in. Then when it does connect, it always takes a fairly long time to index. I would assume only the first index should take a long time and then subsequent connections should only update whatever has been changed, since that was how it worked with my iPhone. Then, once it's finally done indexing, if I click on 'Playlists', Sync tells me that there are no playlists on my phone even though I have several that play perfectly fine on my Z3's music players (Walkman, Google Play Music, doubleTwist Music Player). All of my music is stored in the 'Music' folder on my Z3 and the playlists are .m3u files. I am using the doubleTwist app to sync my playlists created in iTunes to my phone. Sync finds all of the music on my phone but it can never index the m3u playlists that are in the same folder. Also, sometimes it will find the playlists that the Walkman app creates by default, called 'Walkman Favourites', 'Walkman Recently Played', etc but I have o clue where those are stored on my phone and how Sync seesthose playlists but not the ones in my Music directory. I'm pretty sure the playlists are extended m3u's, but I've tried simple m3u's as well and those don't seem to work either. I'm stumped on this one.
  12. My 2013 Escape Titanium SYNC NAV system's volume control has started malfunctioning. When the Radio/CD/MP3 is on, the volume control works. When the they are off you can't control the volume. They have reset the system and even replaced the "brain" yet the issue persists. They are now researching the issue. I have had this vehicle in 9 times now for issues related to the SYNC system! HELP! PS: Yes, it has all the latest patches and updates.
  13. Is there an easy/fast way to load your saved Favorites to the Nav in a 2013 Escape Titanium? Every time the dealer resets my SYNC system it takes me hours to get all the settings back like I had them and all the Favorites back into the NAV system! Unfortunately, this has happened WAY too often in the year that I have had this vehicle!
  14. I have a 2013 F-250 with everything Ford offers: SYNC, Navigation, Sirius, Bluetooth and radio. My system is up-to-date as of today, August 7, 2014. A couple of months ago I started experiencing problems with voice recognition like I would say "Call John Smith on Cell" and the system would say "Call Alexander Graham Bell at Home" and proceed to call that person. Then, a few weeks ago, as I was coming out of my garage, the Sirius system was looking for satellites and someone called my phone. After that call, my bluetooth did not work, I could not make voice commands, Sirius subscriptions were wiped out (I subscribe to all of them and paid 1 year in advance) and probably worst of all, I had no radio of any kind. Sirius did a hard reset from their end and most of the subscriptions came back. I did the reset from the screen and nothing changed. I took it to the Ford dealer and they tried updating the system software but because it was up-to-date, it would not take it. The service guy said that I could make an appointment for a week later and then said "If you want it to work fast, try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes (the truck has 2) and that should do a hard reset." I took the battery cables off as instructed using an 8mm wrench and it was easy and quick and after reconnecting, the system worked perfectly and only my GPS recent destinations were lost. BUT, the system deteriorates at faster cycles. First about 10 days then 5 and the last one was like 3 days. I have an appointment with a SYNC specialist on August 12. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions? Advice?
  15. My brother has a 2013 TC wagon, and I have a 2011. His Sync is far superior to the Nokia Bluetooth in mine. I want to put in the later American style head unit and Sync module. Has anyone tried or succeeded in doing this? It looks like it would be pretty straight forward except for the radio connectors. Any guidance is appreciated, especially a part number to the Sync module, and does it swap with any other cars like Focus or Fiesta? Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. EVERY time I hang up a call on my HTC One my radio station is reset to 107.9. Very annoying as I take a lot of phone calls in my car and EVERY time I hang up its blasting this 107.9 station. I have taken my 2012 Focus ST back to the dealer three times and reloaded the software in SYNC. Who do I go to next to troubleshoot this issue...Sony, Sync, HTC, Android, Bluetooth? This is not my area of expertise and apparently not my Ford service department's or HTC VIP Service department's either. My other family members' phones do not cause this issue when they are sync'd and take calls in my car. weird. has to be my phone or my Sync
  17. I love my 2013 Ford C-Max SEL that I bought in October 2012. I hate the Sync system because of all the problems I am having with it and the dealers complete inability to fix it, which is probably Ford's problem. I'm an IT guy, so I'd like to report these problems somewhere that can actually get the bugs filed and fixes on the way so that I and many other Ford owners can love their cars fully. Here's my list of problems. I have photos of most of them happening. GPS off by several blocks often (over a mile occasionally) GPS map being completely blank Navigation SD Card Fault numerous times Blank Stations for the radio for hours at a time (problem persists through restarting the car) Completely blank Sync screen Blank Sync Screen with only the colored band across the bottom or top Multi-minute delay for voice calling to actually placing the call (I often end up manually placing the call and start talking only to hear the Sync say "calling so and so." Long periods of unresponsiveness from Sync, 5-7 minutes at a time (sometimes with beeps when I press a sport that should do something, sometimes no sound) Warning about performing scheduled maintenance Issues getting SyncMyRide setup (I think that is resolved) Issues generating vehicle health report (resolved but practically useless) Sync will not shut off when paired with my wife's phone - we've had to completely unpair it and not be able to use handsfree or it won't turn off even after the car has been off for hours. Let me know what debugging information is helpful and I'm happy to report this to the appropriate folks if I can just find out where to do that. Thanks, Jon
  18. My battery died but was able to get it running again by a jump from another car. Once it restarted I lost my sync. When I try to set up my phone with sync, I get the "no phone" message and I am not able to access the menu. My car is a 2010 Fusion SEL. Does anyone have a solution?
  19. Sorry if this has been posted, but in looking through the posts, I couldn't find a recent one. I just bought a new 2013 Fusion Titanium and I love it. The car kicks butt. I love the styling, handling, power and gas mileage. I'm coming off an Infiniti and I'm happy as can be. Except for the Sync. There are some really strange things about it that make me yell not-so-nice words to her a few times a week. - When playing my iPod, the shuffle never stays on. I've seen a post that says others experience this too, but is this a bug, design or what? Will it be fixed? Every time I shut the car, I need to click shuffle - all again, even though it is set that way, or it will go song by song. - I like my sound setting set to "Surround". I need to set it this way every time I turn on the car. Again, very annoying. - You can't play a playlist through voice commands. She brings up the list and you need to pick it. Seems to defeat the hands-free value. - On the phone, I have a few contacts that are just the first name. She does not like this. I've given up and just use the buttons. - The voice recognition is ok, but not great. She makes Siri look very smart. There are some good features too. Setting climate seems to work well. The navigation is good, once you set the destination (which can be a little cumbersome). The information it provides, such as current street and compass are great. Still love the car, but any help in making me happier with Sync would be greatly appreciated! Ford - you should have teamed up with Apple!
  20. Was having some issues connecting to bluetooth audio, did a master resest, now when I go to the Connect Bluetooth Devices screen, the "Add" button is no longer available, it is greyed out. Any idea how to get this back working? My original issue was that I could sync to bluetooth but only for phone calls, bluetooth audio for media wouldn't work any more, and my phone wouldn't let me select it in the bluetooth settings. I will worry about that again once I can connect the device to Sync.
  21. I searched the forum and couldnt find anything so please forgive me if this is a repost. Plugging an ipod (classic) in through the usb on a 2010 f150. When I pick say play artist, the list of albums from that artist comes up. when i pick all or a specific album, then a track it starts playing. however i have not been able to go back to the previous screen the only way i have been able to get back to the list of the albums is to go back out to main menu, pick artists scroll through and select the artist again. any help would be greatly apreciated.
  22. I've been trying for over a week now to download the latest Sync software for both my Fusion '08 and my Explorer '12. Every time I click to download, I agree to the terms and the next thing I see is an error message that says I need to have Java installed in my browser. IT IS INSTALLED. I'm on a Mac OS X 10.8.3 and I've tried this with Safari 6.0.4. I've also tried this in Firefox 19.0 and the same thing happens. I also tried this from a PC with Windows 7 Starter and the latest version of Internet Explorer. That one said I needed to install Active X and to look for a pop-up to download it, but nothing ever pops-up and the pop-blocker in IE is turned off. And Active X is turned on in my IE browser on that computer. This is incredibly frustating. How do I get the software to a USB? Additionally, now I'm having trouble logging into the http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/software-updates-sync-myford-touch website. (I know I have the right info - it's even stored in my browser where I verified the login info.) I went the route of "Forgot your password?" and when I submit, that takes me to an error: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Ford Owner website is currently unavailable or the requested page is not valid. Please try your request again later." Anyone have any advice here? Lastly, when I try to pair my iPhone 4S (latest OS), it immediately goes to "Pairing failed." I've done a master reset on Sync but it's still happening.
  23. Back in Oct 2012, we replaced our Camry Hybrid with a 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL. We love the car, but have had a dozen different problems with the Sync infotainment system which have been very disappointing. I work in IT and am hoping that I can get some help resolving these major & minor bugs in Sync for my C-Max. I also write a green living blog www.greenlifestylechanges.com and love renewable energy, technology and efficiency.
  24. I have a 2011 Edge Sport with the full MyFord Touch and Sync. For some reason lately the bluetooth has gone bad...everyone I talk to says "It sounds like you are in a wind tunnel". This was never like this before, it's almost unbearable for the caller to hear me. Something must have changed. I did fairly recently update to the latest SYNC software, I am currently running SYNC Version Gen2 - V3.2.2 I don't know if something happened with this update, but I am wondering if anyone has any similar problems or advie on what might have happened. I'm stuck using a corded headset now and the bluetooth was always so perfect before! Thanks
  25. I just bought a 2011 Ford Fusion SE and so far just about everything is working great! I got home and I decided I wanted to try to play music from my 1GB thumbdrive. I had to manually move the song one by one from iTunes to my thumbdrive. No problem there. So, I took the thumbdrive and I inserted it into the USB port in my car and it worked perfectly ! Displayed Artist name, and song name! Well when my fiance got home I was so excited I wanted to show her and so we got in the car and it wouldnt work ?!?!? It just displayed that the USB was empty! So I thought maybe the cars sync system somehow erased my drive?! I plugged it back into my computer and it still has all the songs on it and it is formatted in FAT32. So, I dont know what the heck is going on?! My brother and I took a look and discovered my sync needed to be updated, so he used one of his thumb drives to update it and it read his thumb drive perfectly and then I once again tried my thumbdrive with the music and it read USB EMPTY. I am not sure what to do or what the problem is? Its formatted correctly, all the songs are MP3's and like I said before, it worked the first time but hasnt worked since?! Any suggestions? Thanks
