I have only had my car for a month and when ever I connect to the car the ring volume goes max. I only realised this after your post. Isn't that's what you have noticed or am I misunderstanding your original post?

Did some testing today. My iPhone was at approx 50 % ring volume. Connected to my Ford and the volume went to max. Disconnected set the volume to 50%. Connected again and the phone went back to 100%. Also my wife and kids all have iPhone 6s all with the newest iOS and their phone do not go to max. Must be related to the car.

I am running version 2.2 build 16223. I have tried to search for new update, but after 1/2 hour the system is still checking for updates, and seems to be stock. Thank you for any input.

I have same problem with my iPhone 7 (10.3.1). At first I thought the problem was related to the latest iOS update, but after reading your post I tested, and my phones ring volume goes to max when I connect to my car (2017 Ford Focus - sw version 2.2). I have tried a rest of the phone, but it had no effect.
