  1. I ran 3.0 months ago on mine, and I also found that Android Auto was no longer available on my screen. I was able to get this back myself by doing a factory reset of the Sync 3 system in the settings menu. When it restarted I was able to turn Android Auto back on again, and then go through the setup process. Try it, it's much faster than going to Ford and them charging you for their time or sending you away without a fix.
  2. Thanks for letting us know your findings, hopefully it will help some US Sync Users. Unfortunately, in the UK things work differently. The option to update over Wifi is present, but will not work. I now have 2.3 installed by the dealer and have tried 3.0 myself in the past. None of these have fixed my issue, mostly because it's HARDWARE as proven by diagnostics checks. In the past I also had AA vanish from the menu screen, but a Factory reset brings it back as an option without the need to change to a new firmware version. For clarity, Android Auto does load up on my Sync 3, but without warning and for no reason it simply fails and reverts back to the main menu. The video I posted above clarifies what I am trying to explain.
  3. Depends on your perception of things. One of the deciding factors for buying this car was Android Auto integration. Sync 3 has this built in, but it has never worked properly in my car. I have had courtesy cars with it and it has worked fine, so I expect a brand new car to work as intended. I feel it is worth the hassle to try and get this fixed, considering it's one of the main reasons I parted with £25k.

  5. Unfortunately I can't say. I have it writing that there is 140 bugs that 2.3 is expected to resolve, but nobody can say what those bugs are. The problem I have hasn't been cured by the update, and that's the problem i'm most concerned about..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOAsoRGg_c4
  6. The update version is Sync 3.0 V2.3 Build 17109. The update takes 5 hours to download and install and it has made no difference to the main issue with my car.

There isn't a Ford UK website that allows us to do it that way (looked at that option many months ago) and trying other country sites won't work because you need to register the VIN of the vehicle before you can complete an account. For the record, Waze has been working on Android auto in the UK for months now, not sure about on Apple products though (unlikely knowing Apple).
  8. I'm no closer to finding out what the version number is, but hopefully the 2nd dealer will be a bit more helpful on that. I've also tried to check for updates OTA but it says it was incomplete and try again later. No idea why Ford can't simply send it over the air to those of us that have opted in for this feature, it's got to be easier than having a dealership waste their time on it.
  9. Well, I promised an update... The farce continues. Ford had the car from 1130am and I collected it at 4pm. At one point the update froze at 75% and the dealer were concerned that it may not download fully, and if they unplugged the car it would kill it. Eventually it did download, but failed on 3 attempts to install. I'm going to try another dealer next week as they have had success with this install. For now, I'm stuck with a car that is on old software and can't be updated. I'm hoping it's due to the known APIM issue that Ford don't seem to think is a problem.
  10. I'm booked in to have the update on 2nd Feb, so i hope to have an update soon after. I still don't know what version it is, nobody seems to know when I asked two different Ford dealers/service centres.
  11. Sorry, I don't know yet. Despite Ford UK advising the dealer to contact me and get it booked in, the dealer have chosen not to bother. As soon as I know what version it is I will update the info in here.
  12. Same here, I was hoping to get it OTA to avoid the hassle of dealing with the dealer, but it won't download anything.
  13. Ford UK emailed today to advise that the latest sync update has gone live. I don't know the details yet but I hope to get it installed soon.
